    more from this reviewer

Highly Recommended for Classic Short Story Lovers.

The Burned Tower deserves the praise heaped upon it by the critics, a tale of darkness and redemption based on the legend of the pied piper.
If you love the short stories of Ray Bradbury, Richard Matheson, and John Collier with a soupcon or two of Nathaniel Hawthorne and Leo Tolstoi added to the mix, this memorable tale will suit you to a tee.

Interesting retelling of the Pied Piper story. Short, fast read, but worth the time.

    Short and poignant

It’s a beautifully written and deeply touching story, the moral fable that retells the Pied Piper legend in a most unusual way.

    Interesting

This is a unique take on folklore. It merges modern day with hundreds of years past. It is intriguing and eerie. The writing itself can be hard to follow and I sometimes found myself gapping out while reading so much descriptive detail. This may be due to translation. Overall it's worth the read.

    A good book, a fast read & it's free!

Spoiler: this book is only 50pgs, so it is a short story! The book was good, & I felt like it had a lot of potential. You take a journey, you get to know both characters during the drive, so the plots stays well paced, as you continue the journey it gets more interesting but once we get to the end it becomes very confusing. It was a story to tell the story of the Pied Piper, & I think there was a moral to be learned, but the end wasn't done well in my opinion.

Enjoyed this short story. Thought provoking yet entertaining. Reminds of older European stories. Would enjoy other works by these authors.

    Pretty Good Story

Not a bad short story. Wasn't too excited about the ending - was expecting more.

    Not the easiest of reads

Found it hard to get through this one and it's only 50 pages. Lots of symbolism, but difficult to follow at times.
