He was six months from a Ph.D. degree in space physics from the University of Alberta when he decided to become a professional photographer. Ed Lilley and his wife Susan have been married for more than 30 years, and they have three sons, Hayes, Bryce, and Wyeth. They have lived on Cape Cod since 1979, where Sue is an active partner in the studio, being in charge of office management, print finishing, and portrait/wedding sales.
