Trouble is exactly what he finds, and soon he suspects his client, ghost or not, has darker motives for finding his estranged wife than the reconciliation he claims. Left with a cadaver for a client, a spook doctor for a partner, and Mama Hog as advisor on all things spiritual, Markhat must unravel a dark mystery ten years old, and do it before another grave is filled. Maybe his own.

    A great series

    I've loved all the Markhat books. I read this one second. The first three can be read in any order; after that, stick to the order they were published as the world gets more detailed and the characters grow and change in a realistic manner.

    These are great little fantasy detective stories; similar to Dresden Files. The first three are shorter than full novels, but make for a great little afternoon sitting or a train ride.

    The characters make the books from Markhat the finder, to Mama Hog the witch and even the three-legged cat.

    Highly recommended!
