Meet the Author

Letty Zalme-Case immigrated to the USA from the Netherlands at the age of 10, along with her parents, sister, and brother. The family settled in West Orange, NJ. After attending W. Orange public schools, she graduated from the Newark School of Fine & Industrial Arts. After several jobs in the advertising field, she studied with a NJ State Police unit and became certified as a Police Composite-Sketch Artist. Intrigued by Police work, she changed careers and joined the West Orange Police Department... a daunting task for a polio-survivor. She served as a patrolwoman, Juvenile Bureau investigator, and earned her Sharpshooter and Distinguished Expert status on the police pistol team. She retired from police work in 1991, and became a preschool teacher and Arts & Crafts Director at the West Orange Community House. It was at this time that she became interested in writing.
Letty still resides in West Orange with her husband Jack, daughter Ashley, rescued shelter-dogs Chewy and Luke Skywalker... and several cats and birds.
