Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

"Buddy's keen sense of smell, particularly for junk food associated with each individual, heightens both the gentle humor and suspense, while the cracking of secret codes adds further intrigue." Booklist (Online Review)
Children's Literature - Amy S. Hansen
Buddy works as a therapy dog at local elementary school and he notices things. He notices when the kids smell like oatmeal, chocolate and bubblegum. He notices when his Mom, the school principal, is about to forget his food. And he notices that he gets to go on the fourth grade school sleep over. Buddy is also a detective and he is determined to find out the secret of the school ghost. The ghost's name is Agatha. "Agatha was a girl who went to school here a long time ago," explained Mr. Poe, the custodian. When the lights blink everyone assumes it is Agatha. But Buddy does not accept Agatha's story. He sniffs out the truth and solves the mystery of the school ghost. Buddy is by far, the school's best canine detective; although people do not always know it. This book will appeal to kids who like humor, mysteries, dogs, or all of the above. This is book six in "The Buddy Files" series. Reviewer: Amy S. Hansen

A lot of fun. I will admit, though to feeling nervous for a bit because of a ouija-like scene but I felt that the end made up for that bit of uncomfortableness. I’d suggest this to a more mature reader, though.
