The Catcher Who Shocked the World is about the main character Rod Caisy who plays the position of catcher for his little league team, the Tornadoes. Kids make fun of him because he isn¿t a real good hitter, even though he is a good catcher. Ed Fegson is a friend of Rod¿s and the pitcher for the Tornadoes. Don Struthern is the first basemen and Toni Cippriate is the second basemen. This story takes place at a baseball field. When Rod shocks the world by hitting a homerun because he isn¿t a very good hitter, it is similar to a scene in the book Getting Air the main character Jimmy Zimmerman, lands the first 1080 ever on a skateboard. A 1080 is three complete revolutions. A message in both of these books is to not give up. I would recommend this book to anyone 8 and up or anyone who likes baseball and surprises.
