—All About Romance

There are people in this world who believe in magic, who search for the possibility in their daily lives . . .

Focused attorney Nicholas Goodman is not one of those people. A rising star in a major law firm, Nick has all the pieces of his life in order: a great career, financial success, and a girlfriend whose father is one of his major clients. Everything in his life is neat and orderly—until the day Nick opens his door and finds a green-eyed, dark-haired beauty standing there. And she happens to be totally naked.

To these people, love is just as magical as a unicorn in your driveway . . .

Maggie is one-hundred percent, head-over-heels in love with Nicholas. He’s kind and smart and sexy, and she’s certain he’s the man for her. There’s just one problem: Maggie’s not exactly human. But through the power of magic, she’s given a chance. She has one week to make Nick fall in love with her.

One week to make “happily ever after” a reality.

This book was to die for! I loved it and couldn't quit reading it from start to finish. It's about a cat who falls for her owner and would do anything to have him for herself. She is a cat during the day and a human during the night..what an oddity right... Nick does fall for the girl, there is something familiar about her but she doesn't know who she is..or so she says.

    Rating - 4.5

Awesome story. Maggie is Nick's cat, has been for 3 years, and she has fallen in love with him. She's given about a week to get Nick to fall in love with her but she's only human during the night and she can't tell him that she's his cat.

The characters were great, I loved Nick's sister Deena and his best friend Hoop who are helping Maggie get Nick even though they think she lost her memory and only knows that she loves Nick.

It was cute and funny. Great read!

Funny, Imaginative, and Just plain Magical

As an animal lover (and hopeless romantic) I was both touched and brought to giggles by this book. Ms. Kenner was able to infuse feline qualities to Maggie the human and humanlike qualities to Maggie the cat. This is a keeper and one that you will want to read over and over again. =)

    GREAT BOOK...GREAT COVER!!

Maggie is a black cat who loves her attorney owner, Nicholas Goodman, and wants to save him from marrying his fiancee, Angela, who happens to be the bosses' daughter. Maggie begs Old Tom, a magical cat, into turning her into a human being..he agrees by making a few conditions...Nicholas must tell her outloud that he loves her, and he must do it by Halloween which is one week away! Also, Maggie will be transformed into the feline state during the day, and into a human after sundown.... This is a hysterical read, with great secondary characters, especially Deena(Nick's sister who talks to fairies) and Hooper (Nick's best friend).... I practically rolled on the floor laughing when the human Maggie was caught eating cat crunchy treats out of the bag, like we would nibble on chips!! Everyone of you who love a good, funny but heartwarming story, should get this book and read it soon!! It's a definite 'keeper' and a 'comfort' read...........this is an author to watch!! Can't wait for her next book which deals with the heroine having 'x-ray' vision....I'm already chuckling!! This book is more than just 'outstanding'!

    A Magical Tale

Julie Kenner's latest novel puts one in mind of a sexy fairytale with the perfect blend of passion and humor. Maggie and Nicholas will reach out and capture your heart. Deenie and Hoop will tickle your funny bone. The Cat's Fancy is truly romance at its very best!

The Cat¿s Fancy by Julie Kenner Prequel to Protectors/Superhero

The Cat’s Fancy by Julie Kenner
    Prequel to Protectors/Superhero Series
Maggie is a cat. Literally. And she has fallen in love with her owner. He’s engaged to marry a female but Maggie’s cat senses tell her it’s all wrong. Old Tom gives her one week to get her man to fall in love with her and tell her so. And she only has the nights to convince him….as a woman that is. The daytime she’s still his beloved pet, Maggie the cat.

Nick Goodman has taken care of his sister Deena since their parents died. Sometime in the past eight years he’d become someone different. He worked for a law firm that did what could to get what they wanted. He no longer had fun and he was marrying for a partnership, not love. When a beautiful naked woman shows up on his doorstep it changes all the plans he had and has him rethinking his life.

The Protectors/Superhero Series begins with Aphrodite’s Kiss. In the first book Nick and Maggie are mentioned often as Deena Goodman is friends with the main character, Zoe. If you enjoy reading series I think you’ll enjoy the next book more after knowing Maggie’s story.

    Excellent

A very exciting and fun story about Maggie the enchanted cat who is in love with her owner Nickolas. She makes a deal to become human for all times if she can just get Nicholas to say he loves her out loud. This was an excellent and unique plot to this story. Loved it !!

    Yum-Yum. Kitty Treats

In order to enjoy this story, you must be willing to overlook a bit of questionable behavior on the hero's part (running out and leaving a naked stranger in his apartment alone, not ditching the heinous fianceé earlier & being a cat owner who lets his unaltered cat run at large) and buy into the fantasy that cats have human thoughts and can, apparently, turn into humans. Being owned by two cats, I find this a scary thought. :::grin::: However, Julie Kenner takes the premise and turns it into a delightful story that had me laughing in places and in other places had me muttering, 'Just say you love her, Nick!'
At one point, while engaged in a conversation with Nick's sister (Deenie), Maggie (as a human) absentmindedly tears open a bag of tuna kitty treats and chows down half the bag before Deenie's horrified look stops her. In another scene, Maggie (as a cat) plots a give the clothes Evil Angela keeps at Nick's house a look and feel of angora. After I read this, I had a horrible thought that perhaps my Maine Coon, Esmerelda, plots in a similar fashion with my hubby's fleece pants and shirts.
All in all, The Cat's Fancy, was a light and fun story. Ms. Kenner has captured my attention as an author and I look forward to her next single title, which involves a woman with X-ray vision!

    Exciting otherworldly romance

Maggie the cat turned to the sage elder of her clan Old Tom for help. She loves her owner Nicholas Goodman and believes he reciprocates her feeling although he is engaged to that ¿unreal¿ female. She wants to turn human so that they can become complete. Old Tom explains the heavy cost to Maggie. She will give up eight lives if he helps her turn human. He also explains the price of the conversion. She has till All Hallows Eve, one week away, for Nicholas to state he loves her. During the day she will revert to her feline form while at night she will be human.
Attorney Nicholas does not believe in magic or love although he cherishes and loves his sister and his cat. However, his belief system is nuked when a beautiful naked woman appears at his door. As the clock ticks on Maggie, her handicaps include not fully understanding human psychology and the daily physical conversion. Even as he begins to fall in love with Maggie, she knows that each second that passes without those three words from Nicholas means she is that much closer to losing it all.
Julie Kenner spins a magical romance that will provide much pleasure to fans of something a bit different. Nicholas is a warm caring character. His sister Deena, her significant other Hoop, and Old Tom help propel the story line forward. However, what makes this tale worth reading is Maggie whose struggles with human vs. feline philosophy turns the reading experience into an enchanting spell.
Harriet Klausner
