The Chad Mitchell Trio was one of the top singing attractions on the campus and club folk circuit in the ’60s, rivaling established competitors such as The Kingston Trio and Peter, Paul and Mary. They made a lasting contribution to the folk movement, mixing political satire with sophisticated vocal harmony while simultaneously broadening the audience for both. • This collection features some of the best recordings ever made by the trio and includes Bob Dylan’s “Blowin’ In The Wind” (recorded before Peter, Paul & Mary), “Last Night I Had The Strangest Dream,” and “The John Birch Society,” which featured Fred Hellerman of The Weavers on guitar. • The release also features folk-rock legend Jim (Roger) McGuinn on banjo and guitar, before he started The Byrds.
