One of the best books I've ever read. I found a battered old copy of it in the library in seventh grade and re-read it multiple times throughout high school. The librarian was even going to let me take it with after I graduated...I was severely depressed when I realized that I'd forgotten about it. I would recommend this book to anyone because it is such a great read!

This is a very touching and memorable story. I read it as a teen and have read it to both of my children at about the same age. I would absolutely love to have this in nook format please!

I read this book as a teen several times, I am now 32 and reading it again. This was probably one of the first paranormal teen love stories ever. Before Twilight(My Fave) or Harry Potter. It has magic, suspense, and lots of chemistry between Laura and Sorry. It is a very quick read but totally worth it.

This is one of the best books I have ever read. I enjoy this type of book, but I've never read one quiet like this. I have read it numerous times since I discovered it nearly a decade ago. It is enjoyable every time. The charecters are believable and draw the reader in.

This book is the greatest. I am personally not one to read romances but this book caught my eye. I have read it more then twenty times and it gets even better with each time I read it. Laura is your average every day girl and Sorenson is the perfect bad boy. This is the type of book that gets your imagination rolling. It makes you feel like you are Laura and you go through everything that she goes through. You'll never want to put it down and you just can't stop thinking about it. If I could give this book more stars I would. I suggest that if you haven't read it you should and if you already have then read it again.

This is my favourite of Margaret Mahy's fantasies. Teenager Laura must become a witch to save her little brother from the clutches of a demon which is sucking the life out of him. Sorenson 'Sorry' Carlisle, another young witch, helps Laura to 'changeover' and get in touch with her power. Brilliant writing, and a satisfying story.
