Overview

The clock is ticking, and time is running out...

NOT ALL THINGS BOUND IN CHAINS SHOULD BE FREED

Time for Melinda is fast running out. Time for her to make her escape. And time to make a daring rescue.

The only thing fifteen-year-old Melinda has been thinking about ever since she found out that she was betrothed to a man twice her age was how to escape the madness of the cult she had been trapped in. But escape seems easier said than done, especially since Melinda is being kept under the watchful eyes of her Uncle, an Aunt who never seems to sleep, and the Elders.

Melinda has the unique ability to see things no one can, like Angels and, once one Halloween, a demon. Her power also allows her to see a boy named Caleb, who isn't really a boy but has the fading aura of an Angel, get captured by the Elders. Kept in chains and tortured, CalebĂs agonizing cries are a constant reminder of why she must get as far away from the cult as she can. She must escape, and soon, but not without trying to rescue Caleb.

Does Melinda have the power to not only save herself, but to save Caleb? And if she can save him, has she saved an angelĂ– or a demon?

The book has so much potential with its plots and characters. The story line is easy to follow. There aren’t new characters that just pop out of nowhere. I like how the author delivers the characters’ lines. It’s fluid and it feels natural. The emotion is also well described too. There are scenes that you can actually feel and empathize with Melinda and her lot in life. The only downside I see in this book is that it could have been longer. It felt hanging and unfinished. I guess I couldn’t complain much since it is a FREE book. I can’t wait for the next book to come out.

This book was 43pages and didn't give you enough background to really get into the book. If you like very short stories with random characters threw into the story with no direction or purpose at all then knock yourself out. But in my opinion, the book isn't worth it at all.

    Waste of time.

43 pages. Its wayyyy too short. it gives you a rough background, the story unfolds too quickly and ends before it eally starts. It had potential to be wayyy better. If it was a sample it would make sense but it doesnt say anything about it being a sample.
