Way too short. I did not enjoy the story either. I do really think this author is talented though, I enjoy her other books.

Only 50 some pages, this book is really a ruse to give us a chocolate cake recipe. Pleasant enough story, but not great literature. A nice distraction that can easily be read in one sitting.

I didn't even finish this because it was so boring although I did check out the cake recipe. It wasn't anything that you couldn't find in a good cookbook or on recipe web sites.
