Edward Lee is the author of almost fifty novels and numerous short stories and novellas (or is it novellae? Hmm.) Several of his properties have been optioned for film, while HEADER was released on DVD in 2009; also, he has been published in Germany, England, Romania, Greece, and Austria. Recent releases include Bullet Through Your Face and Brain Cheese Buffet (story collections), Header 2, and the hardcore Lovecraftian books The Innswich Horror, Trolley No. 1852, Pages Torn From A Travel Journal, Going Monstering, and Haunter of the Threshold. One of Lee's creative ambitions is to one day write an effective M.R. James pastiche.

I previously finished reading Edward Lee’s book “The Pig/The House” which I felt was more gross and humorous than an actual story. While reading “The Chosen,” my initial thought was it’s not like his other book and it’s a little slow, but it might be okay. This book shocked me. It was GOOD. Every free minute I had, I read. Even at work when I shouldn’t have been reading. I didn’t want to stop. It wasn’t until Vera entered Feldspar’s room that I was able to put some things together, prior to the big reveal. But to me the shocker was Kyle and Lemi, since they were polar opposites, one smart and the other, not so smart. I liked all the characters, but Kyle had to be my favorite, hands down. He was a male chauvinist, dirt-bag pig, but he was still funny and likable. I think if you purchase this book, you will not be disappointed and I also think this book would make an excellent movie. Maybe one day someone will put it on the big screen. Please note: This book does have a few editing issues. I noticed some things weren’t capitalized and they should have been.
I have read a few of Mr.Lee's books before. This is not one of his better books. I believe the author himself didn't care for this book once it was published. It does have it's moments. If you like the added element of sex to your horror stories, you will probably enjoy it.
