The Christmas Attic

Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - Stephen Thomas Erlewine
Trans-Siberian Orchestra's second album, Christmas Attic, may not be as focused or serious as Christmas Eve, but it is just as enjoyable and maybe even more consistent, thanks to Paul O'Neill's increasingly impressive compositions and an improved musicality.

I'd give Christmas Eve the edge

While this CD is good and definetly worth getting, I have to say I enjoyed Christmas Eve and Other Stories much more. If you have to choose between the two, or this is your first Trans-Siberian experience, go with CE&OS.

I am probably a number one fan of the song Christmas Canon. In fact I love all music. However I heard that it is the best song on this CD. I was wanting to see The Transiberian Orchestra in concert at one time but realized the children that sing it could not be there to sing this song which I was disappointed about at first. In fact I once thought the children who sing that song was the actual band and hearing them sing Christmas Canon in person was what I was really looking forward to when I almost ordered tickets online.

DON'T BUY it since the only good song is Christmas Canon, all other songs are painful to listen to.

I agree with the previous reviewer that this CD would be hard to give away. All of the songs, with the exception of the famous Christmas Canon, are totally below average and completely forgetable. I can't belief that the group that produced such a fantastic canon of such beauty is the same maker of some of the worst Christmas guitar "music" my ears have had to endure. If you truly like this CD, you are have an ecclectic taste in music so please do not recommend it to others.

People that love the Christmas Canon...if that is why you are buying the CD, I STRONGLY advise you to sample all of the other songs BEFORE you waste good money on a ONE SONG CD.

    Strongly do not recommend

Horrible. Absolutely horrible. There is only one song that is a pleasure to listen to and that is Christmas Canon. I can't even give the CD away. No one wants it after they listen to it. It's actually painful to listen to.

    I Also Recommend:

Usual high quality from Trans Siberian Orchestra

While the music, sound quality, and vocals were the same high caliber of past Trans Siberian Orchestra CDs, was a little disappointed in the fact that some of the cuts were the same as what is on other CDs by them. While they were a little different renditions, would rather have had new pieces.
