I received this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this book. I liked that all the stories were intertwined. The only thing I really have to say on a somewhat negative note is that I would have liked them to all have been longer.

All the stories take place in Twilight, Texas. The town has a legend about two star-crossed lovers that got separated during the Civil War. They reunited 15 years later at twilight on the banks of the river where the town of Twilight is now located. A statue was erected to honor the couple. Over the years there came to be a rumor that if you threw a penny into the fountain that you would be reunited with your high-school sweetheart.
There are 4 novella's included in this book and they are all very good. They tell the stories of Carrie, Raylene, Christine, & Grace. I like that the characters deal with some trials and tribulations that I can relate to.

All in all, I recommend this book.

As a Lori Wilde fan, I was very excited to receive a copy The Christmas Cookie collection in exchange for an honest review. This is 4 novellas in one set in Twilight, Texas.

Carrie and Mark were high school sweethearts. 8 years later, Mark is back as a reality show host to prove the sweetheart myth wrong. Carrie will do anything to keep the myth alive. Even spend time with the man that broke her heart.

Raylene has lost her husband, Earl, after 35 years of marriage due to a secret she kept from him.

Shannon has come to twilight to find the mother who have her up. She starts working at the horny toad with her birth mother under a false name where she meets Nate, a SEAL.

Christine owns a bakery and in walks Eli to order a cake for his daughter. They knew each other briefly in high school sharing a kids before Eli moves away. He is back in twilight. Will they get a 2nd chance?

Jessie has had it rough but things finally seem to be turning around. He's married to Flynn with a baby on the way. Then his past comes back to haunt him. Once his dilemma is dealt with, he goes home and discovers his pregnant wife is missing. Story is short but very sweet.

These 4 stories were truly heart warming and as always, I am looking forward to all of Lori's future books.

Welcome to Twilight, Texas at Christmastime!  If you have never read a Lori Wilde book (you are in for a treat) you don't have to worry about jumping in first with this set of 4 novellas, they are easy to read and get into the series without reading the previous books based in Twilight.  (HERE is the link to other books in this series)

There is something magical about the town of Twilight, Texas and Christmas.  I love reading books in a series that are all connected through a town.  Lori Wilde is a master at telling not only great stories but making the reader really feel a part of the community you they are reading about (I would move to Twilight in a heartbeat).  The Christmas Cookie Collection is 4 novellas all put together to create a great book that will leave you with a warm heart and ready to get started on the Christmas season!

I have been a fan of Lori Wilde for years, she tells stories that pull at your heart and really put the "romance" back into the Adult Romance genre.  Even though this is a collection of novellas they are written in such a way that you feel like you are getting full length novels and one nice journey to Twilight, Texas at Christmas. You get to fall in love 4 times in one book!

If you are a fan of Lori Wilde or even if you have never read her books, I highly recommend this collection to kick off your holiday.  Grab something warm to drink and a get comfy because once you start reading you won't want to stop!

I am a huge Lori Wilde fan and an even bigger fan of the Twiligh

I am a huge Lori Wilde fan and an even bigger fan of the Twilight series. I was so excited to hear that Mrs. Wilde published this book of the different characters of Twilight that tied in with the legend of the town. My favorite story in this book was that of Carrie and Mark. Two high school sweethearts reunited and brought back together all because of the Sweetheart legend. I was able to identify with these characters because it is very similar to my own story of marrying my high school sweetheart!
Although this book is great, and each story is a great read I honestly feel she could have wrote a book about each character and made the stories a bit longer. For instance the story between Carrie and Mark was rushed and before I knew it I was reading about the next character in the book but my mind was still on the sweet romance between Carrie and Mark.
Although the stories in this book are a little too rushed for my liking, it is still a wonderful book. My favorite time of the year is Christmas so this made the book even better for me. I would definitely recommend it. A+ for Lori Wilde!!

What a wonderful book and a quick read!!!! This collection of four stories (Carrie, Raylene, Christine and Grace) takes the reader to Twilight, Texas, where if you
throw a coin in the Sweetheart Fountain you will be reunited with your high school sweetheart and have everlasting love. Lori's stories
and characters make you wish you could live in Twilight also. My favorite of the three stories was Raylene's. In her story we have past love
as well as new love which made it very hard to put down the book. Lori's stories bring laughter and tears...making for one fantastic journey.
I recommend this read for anyone who loves their romances with warmth, heart and soul you won't be disappointed in the trip!

I love Christmas love stories, and The Christmas Cookie Collection was the perfect thing for my love of Christmas stories. Set in the small town Twilight, Texas that has a great legend that helps these couples fall in love.  Carrie, Raylene, Christine and Grace are great characters and they all have their own struggles. Ms. Wilde does a great job connecting the reader to all them and then letting us catch up with other characters too.

It’s a great collection about believing in love and trusting in a bit of Christmas magic and never giving up.  I really enjoyed that each story was fresh and something I’d recommend to friends.

Three of my favorite things all in one book; High School Sweethearts, one true love and Christmas theme. Of the four stories Raylene was my favorite, even those who seem to have it all under control can have their secrets. This is a book that you will want to read over again next season.

In the continuing tradition of great books written by Lori Wilde, this is a book about 4 different women, each with a different story to tell.
Carrie sees her high school sweetheart again, Raylene sees her daughter she gave up for adoption, Christine meets a new love,
and lastly, Flynn, who is married, is expecting a baby at Christmas.
These are great stories and I wish each could have had their own story.
This is the first Christmas story I have read this year and it's a great one to get a reader into the holiday spririt.

I enjoyed this book very much. I have been an avid reader and loyal fan of Lori Wilde's books from the very first one I read years ago called, There Goes the Bride. (Great book, you should read it. But, that's another review.)

The Christmas Cookie Collection contains four heartwarming stories that take place during the holiday season. I had previously read the first three stories; Carrie, Raylene and Christine which were originally published in 2011 as eBooks through Avon Impulse. The fourth story, Grace, is a follow-up to an earlier book, The Sweethearts' Knitting Club.

Each woman has a unique story - The stories are about forgiveness, faith, hope and love. It is the season for miracles, after all.

The stories take place in the small town of Twilight, Texas where the townspeople perpetuate a local legend to keep the tourism revenue flourishing.

"The town was founded in 1875 according to lore, two teenage sweethearts were separated during the Civil War. Circumstances tore them asunder, but they never stopped loving each other. Fifteen years later, they met again at twilight on the banks of the Brazos (River) in the exact same spot where the town now stood.

In the late 1900s a statue in the lovers' honor had been erected in the park near the town square. Rumor had it that if you threw a penny into the fountain at Sweetheart Park, you would be forever reunited with your high school sweetheart and live happily ever after." Excerpt from the book.

    From Amazon:
Carrie: Reconnects with her high school sweetheart . . . the only man she's ever loved.
Raylene: Discovers that the daughter she gave away at birth is living right in Twilight . . .
Christine: Has given up on love . . . until the man of her dreams walks through her shop door.
Grace: It's Christmas Eve and Flynn and Jesse Calloway are thrilled to be expecting a new baby. Then Flynn's car hits a patch of ice, and Jesse must move earth . . . and heaven . . . to save her and their unborn child.

There is a very touching scene with Flynn and Jessie at the very end of the book. (I won't spoil it.) Reading it was emotional for me because of what is going on in my own life. As usual, Lori Wilde nails it.

I've read all the Twilight, Texas books beginning with the first, The Sweetheart Knitting Club which featured Flynn and Jessie, who are still my favorite couple of the series. It was neat to revisit them. Jessie is my kind of hero. The sexy not-so bad guy with a huge heart.

I hope you take visit to Twilight, Texas this holiday season. I don't think you will be disappointed.

The Christmas Cookie Collection ¿ Lori makes Christmas love come

The Christmas Cookie Collection – Lori makes Christmas love come alive!
The Christmas Cookie Collection is one of my new Christmas love story favorites!  The book includes four different stories that are all connected in the small town of Twilight, Texas.  I love how the Cookie Collection connects to the other Twilight, Texas stories that Lori has written. By connecting all her stories, she makes it fun to read by keeping up to date on the other characters lives.  I fell in love with these characters and their stories; I look forward to reading many more Twilight, Texas books.
In the middle of Twilight, Texas is a fountain and throwing a coin into it will connect you with your first love.  There are four stories in the Cookie Collection book, Carrie, Raylene, Christine, and Grace.  Carrie, Raylene, and Christine all have given up on love and Christmas, but their friends refuse to allow them to stay stuck in the past.  Carrie knows the fountain legend is just a myth and has proof.  Raylene has lost everything, and has gained her long lost daughter.  Christine wants a family and has totally given up hope.  Each woman learns to understand that love is worth fighting for and that Christmas is really a magical time.  Grace connects us with past characters of Twilight, and how their love and trust in each other is the real purpose of what Christmas brings – magic.

This collection includes three previously published stories ("Carrie", "Raylene", and "Christine") and one new one ("Grace"), featuring the couple from the very first book in the series, Flynn and Jesse. I've read two other books in the Twilight, Texas series previously, but you don't have to have read them to follow the stories in this collection.

Read all together, the stories are perhaps not as effective as they would be if read on their own--having three stories in a row all stressing the "you'll marry your high school sweetheart" legend stretched its credibility a bit, if you're in a critical mood. Actually, more than one major plot point in these four stories depends on some pretty convenient coincidences, so if you are feeling critical, you might just want to steer clear.

If you're just looking for a cute and fluffy holiday read, though, you've come to the right place.

I thought the two middle stories, "Raylene" and "Christine" were definitely the strongest narratives of the group; I never did warm up to the two main characters of "Carrie", and "Grace" was too short to really engage me--though perhaps if I had read Flynn and Jessie's novel first, I would have felt differently. Actually, my favorite story in the book wasn't even that of a title character--the main romance in "Raylene" wasn't even that of Ray and Earl, but instead featured Raylene's long-lost daughter Shannon and her new beau Nate. Though I was definitely pulling for Ray and Earl to reunite, Shannon and Nate were by far my favorite romance in the whole collection.

As holiday reads go, these stories are cute but somewhat lacking in substance. For long time readers of the series, though, I can see how each one would be like revisiting with old friends--they definitely do have that cozy, small-town "home for the holidays" feel to them.

Rating: A solid B for a holiday read that will leave you with warm fuzzies, though they are mainly sugary confections at heart.

Oh My where do I start with this one? The Christmas Cookie Colle

Oh My where do I start with this one? The Christmas Cookie Collection contains so many of my favorite things I'm not sure which one to tell you about first.

First of all if you have read a lot of my reviews you know that I love Christmas stories. I'll read a good Christmas story in the middle of July given the chance. However when it gets to be this time of year and I am given the chance to read a Christmas story, I am beyond ecstatic. Ireally enjoy Lori Wilde's work. She has a wonderful talent of creating fun charismatic characters that I just can't help but adore. Then she has set these wonderful characters in a small town! Yet another one of my favorite types of stories! So we have a WONDERFUL Christmas theme, we have Lori Wilde whom I am a huge fan of, and a couple of small town romance stories all in one book. I think to say I loved this book it putting it mildly. OK now I'll tell you a little bit about each story in the FABULOUS book.

Carrie The Christmas Cookie Chronicles #1: When Carrie's first love  Mark Leland returns to twilight, it throws Carrie's world into chaos. Mark is in town to film a Myth Busters reality show. I loved that the town has so many sweethearts that have been together since high school. However the show is in town to disprove this theory of high school sweethearts staying together due to a wish in a fountain. I really liked Carrie she is just trying to get through the holiday season and not end up spending time with Mark when he is in town. However when these two are together there is no doubt they still have feeling for each other. There is a lot of drama over the TV Show and a really nice reunion romance story with Carrie and Mark.

Raylene The Christmas Cookie Chronicles #2: Raylene Pringle and her husband Earl are separated due to the secret that Raylene kept all these years. She had a baby girl that she gave up at birth. Earl doesn't take the news well and disappears. Raylene is having a tough holiday season. When Shannon shows up to answer the help wanted sign Raylene hires her and offers her a place to live. There's a little more to Shannon's story then she reveals right away. I loved the romance between Shannon and Nate Deavers. Nate really is just an all around good guy. He is exactly the type of guy Shannon needs after what her ex put her through. I don't want to tell you too much here. I'm just going to say that I love this story and I adored the end. This was one of those feel good Christmas stories for me.

Christine The Christmas Cookie Chronicles #3: Christine receives some disappointing news and she is just not in the HO HO HO holiday spirit this year. That is until an old friend from high school, Eli Borden, walks in the door. He is in need of a birthday cake for his daughter. However after meeting Christine again he finds he wants more then just a birthday cake. These two have a wonderful chemistry together. Eli has his hands full with 4 children at home. When Christine first meets Eli's children, things do not go well. Can Christine and the Eli find a way to blend their lives together to get that that happily ever after that all Twilight residents are finding with their high school loves?

Grace The Christmas Cookie Chronicles #4: I have to admit that Grace was probably my favorite story in this book. Flynn and Jesse Calloway have both had sad things happen in their past. However now they are expecting a brand new bundle of joy. I have to admit that once I started this story there was no putting it down. Once the snow storm started I knew major drama was on the way. Flynn is stranded in the car and very much in labor. Jesse has to find his wife in the middle of a major snow storm with heavy fog. There is plenty of drama in this story and it kept me completely enthralled. I don't want to give anything away but this is another one of those fabulous endings that I just LOVED.

On the whole I loved Carrie, Raylene, Christine, and Grace. As I said I think Grace was probably my favorite story, but they are all wonderful. I love Christmas stories, I love small town romances, and Lori Wilde has yet again created several wonderful stories that kept turning the pages quickly.

If you are like me and enjoy Christmas stories and small town romances or either one, I think you should check this one out. I think you will really enjoy all 4 stories contained in this collection. So what are you waiting for click the link and get your copy ordered!

I was given the opportunity to read this book to share my thoughts with you. As always it has been my pleasure to share my thoughts with you on the wonderful Christmas story.

Carrie Carrie will do anything to keep the legend of her town al

    Carrie
Carrie will do anything to keep the legend of her town alive. She doesn't care much for Christmas and she knows the legend isn't true but she will not let the myth busting tv show that is in town ruin the business that the town gets. She was married years ago to her high school sweetheart years ago but quickly annulled the marriage. Now she doesn't want her story to be the one to ruin the legend. It's hard to keep it a secret when the host is her ex husband. Mark has never forgot Carrie and seeing her again make him realize he still loves her. He just has to keep the show from ruining the town and show Carrie they still have a chance at a future.

I really liked this story as Carrie was kinda like the Grinch at first. Then as you go to know her you see she is lonely and lets that reflect on her personality. You see she really is a very caring and loving person who wants the best for everyone even if it;s her own happiness. She has to understand she is good enough for people and see her own self worth. Mark is also a great character as he has made it big but isn't happy. He never forgot Cassie and understands later on why she did some of the things she did. They both are the perfect couple and meant for each other.

    Raylene
Raylene is the one that truly broke the town legend. She had a secret she kept from her husband that tore them apart. Earl left her and she hasn't heard from him since. Her secret daughter is now  in town and even Raylene doesn't know who she is. She works hard to try to her feelings for Earl from overcoming her but she truly misses him and regrets her secrets.

This was like two peoples story in one. You have Raylene and her daughter Shannon's POV in this story. Raylene just wants her husband to come home but she doesn't even know if he is ok. She wants to reach out to her daughter but wonders if it's to late. She is really torn up inside and tries not to ruin everyone's mood around her. She feels guilty for hiding her daughter from Earl and wonders if she even did the right thing. She struggles through most of the book. Shannon has come to Twilight to confront her mother she never knew and to get over her ex husband who was a con artist. She feels stupid for believing his lies and is afraid to trust people. She meets Nate and while attracted to him she knows she can't have anything with him if she is going to move on. I loved both these woman as they both have tons of mixed emotions and really need to get to know each other. Towards the end of this story I was worried about one of the characters I will say.

    Christine
Christine had big dreams growing up only to have them all taken away because of an accident. Every man she has dated has walked away from her and she feels broken thinking no one will ever love her. That is until her high school crush  Eli walks through the door. He has what she has always dreamed of but she wonders if he will walk away to.

Christine's story will break your heart. She has the worst luck of anyone and it seems everything bad happens to her. I kept hoping something good would happen and in walks Eli. He is a wonderful guy as you will see and shows Christine he isn't like the others she has known. He always wanted her in high school but he moved and never got the chance to let her know. They both have a few issues to work through but they have to take a chance with each other first. They have what the other needs to be happy.

    Grace:
Flynn and Jesse want to make sure the children in town have a good Christmas. They may not have much but they can't wait to meet their new baby. They try to hurry and deliver gifts to the needy before an ice storm hits but Jesse's past comes back to haunt them. Now Flynn and their baby may be in danger. It is up to Jesse to find Flynn in time.

Jesse has a bad reputaion and was sent to jail for years for something he didnt do. Now he has to  deal with cops never trusting him and harrassing him. Flynn loves Jesse so much and would do anything for him. They both care so much for each other. While the time for their baby is drawing closer Flynn begins to miss her mom more and I can understand and relate to her in many ways. There is an element of danger to this story that isnisn't in the others. You can see just how much of a bond these two have for each other and you quickly fall in love with both of them.

    Overall
I will say I enjoyed each and every story in this book. It was like getting to see inside the lives of just not the characters but a whole town. I didn't want it to end even if it had a wonderful ending. I wanted to see more into their lives. That is just the mark of an excellent writer. This is a fantastic book full of love, happiness, some sadness and all around holiday cheer. The characters feel like a family to you by the end and each story has it's on charm to it. I would recommend this to anyone wanted stories about a fantastic town, friendship, love or a heart warming holiday read.

    Title: Christmas Cookie Collection
    Author: Lori Wilder
I received a copy of Lori Wilder’s new book ‘The Christmas Cookie Collection’ in exchange for an honest review.
If you could be reunited with your high school sweetheart or you first love; would you? Do you believe that there is one special person for everyone? Ms. Wilde takes us back to Twilight, Texas for the holiday season showing us the magic of love. These stories will have you laughing and crying, while feeling the joy and pain of these four women, as they remember what made them fall in love in the first place. Ms. Wilde brings us hope that if we believe things can change. People change…remembering what made them fall in love in the first place only to bring them back to that point again is magic and Ms. Wilde has found of way of showing us that magic in ‘The Christmas Cookie Collection.
On our journey through Twilight we find Carrie and Mark reunited finding that they still love each other. Then there is Raylene and Earl; who have lost their way with secrets. Christine once destined for the Olympics only to have had an accident that has left her with a limp…giving up on the chance for love until fate brings Eli back into her life. The last of the four stories is about Flynn and Jesse (from a previous Twilight Texas book) and a baby for Christmas. Each story is full of heartfelt warmth as they find the love that they had for each other. The characters were so realistic that I would never believe that they were not real. They touched me as I connected with them while going through each of their stories. Magic!!!!!!!
So, grab a plate of holiday cookies along with your choice of beverage. Find a nice comfy place to read and enjoy Christmas, love and friends as you head to Twilight, Texas for Second Chances. You might want to grab a box of tissues (because you will find) yourself crying and laughing along with a penny perhaps…just in case you need a second chance at love. Reviewed by Robin B.
