    A Breakthrough for Its Time

    McNeill offers one of the first breaking theological arguements for why homosexuality in the Catholic Church deserves a reexamination. The topic is obviously highly debateable, and a clear right or wrong is hard to prove in dealing with the subject matter. However, McNeill makes a strong case for seeing the biblical claims against homosexuality as either misconcieved, uncontextualized, or simply uninformed. In doing so the author asks (though not outrightly) whether the Magisterium's view of homosexuality as an objective disorder and something contrary to natrual law really hold up to the Gospel message. This book has been the starting point for many modern theologians in their works that agrue for a more homosexaully-tolerant Church.
