About the Author

Genre writer Gretchen Rix was born in North Carolina many, many years ago, but got to Texas as soon as she could. She now resides in Lockhart, a small town near Austin that is the official BBQ capital of Texas. Her current wish list is for a Schlotzsky’s or Taco Cabana to set up shop in town. (News flash—we just got a Schlotzsky’s).

At one time her favorite books were TARZAN OF THE APES and THE BLACK STALLION. By now, all the books by Terry Pratchett and Dick Francis have joined the list. Plus a lot more. She still loves STAR TREK.

She’s been writing since she was ten (inspired by Jo of LITTLE WOMEN), and has been publishing since 2010. Her books range from the sweet, romantic comedy of THE COWBOY'S BABY series to the humorous mystery series beginning with TALKING TO THE DEAD GUYS, and even to the action-adventure of THE SAFARI BRIDE, ARROYO, and THE GOODALL MUTINY.

She loves reading series books. She loves writing them too.

Although she has seldom written poetry, she does write short stories from time to time. She loves movies and television, has vowed she’ll never write a screenplay, and enjoys long walks through the neighborhood with the dog. (And without the dog.) The cats weren’t so easy to walk, so they stay inside at home.
