    Awesome Book With Surprising Twist!

I got this book for Christmas having asked for it after reading and enjoying Linda Palmer's short stories. I figured it would be a so-so book, you know the one's; cute, slightly under-developed characters; mediocre predictable plot, etc. But I must say I was completely wrong.
Now I'm not a judgmental reader and none of Linda Palmer's stories had ever disappointed me but I was taking the book at it's summary which didn't make it sound very deep, but looking back it does clue you in, just in a subtle way...never the less, I didn't recognize it so I settled down with this book with no expectations. And my gosh was I blown away.
This book had everything, strong characters, touching moment, parts that made you burst out laughing in a completely quiet room with a bunch of people conveniently there to stare at you, a sweet, clean romance and very little swearing. No parents be warned when I refer to little swearing I mean that the book wasn't riddled with swear words every other sentence. The F bomb was dropped twice (unfortunately, that did disappoint me a little but I found I could overlook it with my handy pen...) and other than that nothing too bad.
There were a couple of references to sex but the characters romance stayed very clean and thus enjoyable. I find that I don't get nervous with this author, waiting for some inappropriate scene to pop up. No, I can read Linda Palmer's books in confidence, I know there might be some swearing but that seems to be the worst of it, which is really good for a YA book these days!
I really connected with Ren, I liked her honesty and dry wit and her relationship with Dugan. Her psychic powers were cool and not as off-the-wall as I originally thought they would be. There was good basis for it and in reading I would find myself metaphorically nodding and going, "Hey, yeah that totally makes sense".
Another point I must touch on was the amazing plot. The pacing moved fantastically, their first kiss didn't seem rushed or random, you realized that they had made a connection and had some spent some time together to back it up which was nice and made it feel realistic. The characters were attracted to each other and Ren openly admits her crush to her best friend but it wasn't forced.
This was truly an awesome book, boosting my already high opinion of this author even higher. I know there's not a lot of reviews on this book but go ahead and take my advice; if you like a sweet romance with a great mystery, a girl with psychic powers, and a hot honorable boy then this is sooo the book for you!
Go order it off B&N right now, I don't want to have to pinch you! (You'll get that when you read the book. ;))
