All Music Guide - Stephen Thomas Erlewine
One thing buried amidst all Bon Jovi's detours of the new millennium -- there wasn't just 2007's contemporary country Lost Highway, there was the acoustic reworking of hits This Left Feels Right in 2003 -- is that the group has been sober-minded throughout the decade, reacting to 9/11 on 2002's Bounce, exploring the morass of W's America on 2005's Have a Nice Day, and now creating a soundtrack for the Great Recession on 2009's The Circle. Subtlety has never been a concern for Bon Jovi, so the group makes it plain that they will be the ones to "Work for the Working Man," while they wonder "who's gonna bail out all our shattered dreams" on "Brokenpromiseland." ...

Subtlety has never been a concern for Bon Jovi, so the group makes it plain that they will be the ones to "Work for the Working Man," while they wonder "who's gonna bail out all our shattered dreams" on "Brokenpromiseland." Explicit references to the broken state of blue collar America pile up throughout The Circle, but instead of setting these wannabe working man anthems to the kind of Springsteen-esque rock that's their trademark, Bon Jovi, with the assistance of producer John Shanks, have decided to make their own version of a U2 album. Everything on The Circle exists in a big, wide open space conjured by echoed, delayed guitars, shimmering keyboards, and spacious rhythms, an atmosphere that's just as likely to recast the "Living on a Prayer" bassline as something as sadly ominous as it is to ease into chanted, African-inspired vocal hooks, but a knack for oversized choruses remains hardwired in Bon Jovi.

    I Also Recommend:

Jon Bon Jovi gets better with each album

I'm a huge Bon Jovi fan so perhaps I'm too easy to please, but I love anything this band produces. Having just seen the band live last year, I'm even more into the music and I enjoy his new and old stuff. Great soundtrack for a road trip -- this music puts you in a great mood. Great classic rock and roll will never go out of style and I'm not forward to more Bon Jovi in the future.

Great R&R CD, and great to hear some good guitar solos.

Love the energy of the CD with solid R&R tracks. And more than all I love to hear back the guitar of Mr Sambora doing some great solos. Really a nice back to the roots. Defiently recoemded for any Bon Jovi fan.

    I Also Recommend:

They Just Keep Getting Better Like a Fine Wine!

I have been a Bon Jovi fan for a longtime and I find myself always going back to their early music. However, I just can't get enough of the new CD I love listening to the guys put their heart and soul into their music you hear it in Jon Bon jovi's voice and Richie's inspired guitar playing. They truly have stood the test of time, and the harshness of the critics eye. It's nice to have something that you can truly listen to time after time it never gets old.

I've been a Bon Jovi fan for a long time now. Everytime a new album comes out, I'm never disappointed.
