Overview

When Laedron Telpist's sorcery training is interrupted by a knock on the door, what once seemed a proper profession must now be hidden. In a world where priests and mages vie for the limitless power of the elements and a new Grand Vicar has sworn death to all sorcerers, Laedron is tossed into a nightmare which would see his destruction at every turn.

From the home shores in western Sorbia, through the Cael'Brilland heartlands, and even across the seas to the great city of Azura, Laedron finds himself embracing old friends, consorting with unlikely allies, and confronting potent enemies. As he struggles to train himself in spellcraft, Laedron must face that he lives in a time when the utterance of a simple spell could be the signature on his death warrant.

I found the story to be very intriguing. I've read alot of fantasy lately but it was refreshing to see a fantasy book that didn't focus on the same old warrior versus dragon or kingdom versus dragon story. In this story the enemy is not unlike the main character or his friends, just on a different side of the same coin. Also loved the twist at the end and i hope that comes into play or gets explained more in the next one which I will be buying.

I found this book in a complete free version, just follow these instructions: click on the home button, then books, then teens, then fiction and literature, and then fantasy, finally, scroll down.

I liked the book, but you can get acomplete free version, so this was a waste of $4.

I've just completed the series. Each book was well written and difficult to put down. I can't imagine reading only the first book. The non-stop action and growth of characters will keep eagerly reading until the very end. Fun read for all ages.

Very addicting. Worth getting the others in the series, good plot and the characters evolve well.
