Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble
Fantasy author Tanith Lee brings together the first three fantastic installments of the Claidi Journals, taking readers on a harrowing adventure from Claidi's young life in the House to her struggle to prove her love and honor in Wolf Queen. With a powerful voice and brave characters that match the creations of Tamora Pierce and Robin McKinley, Lee creates a heroine whose journey out of servant life -- and toward self-discovery, as she learns about the Towers' war and her own past in the third book -- will absorb and startle you from page one of Wolf Tower. By the end of this stellar trilogy, you'll be hooked on Claidi and cheering for more.

a surprisingly good collection of stories

although you wouldnt know it from looking at the cover, this was a great collection of stories. the first line immediately grabs you, and the main character is engaging and by the end of the first book its like you know her really well. it was interesting to hear all about this fantasy world. some parts were also romantic, which made the story even better. i dont like a lot of fantasy but i couldnt stop reading these books. however, my best friend reads a ton of fantasy (she loves tolkien) so she has fairly high standards. i lent her this book and she loved it so much i eventually just gave it to her and bought another copy!

Review by Sandy, a fantasy fan.

I think that this series was great. It never got boring, and having Claidi talk to us in such a realistic way makes the book easy to follow. She was not the perfect heroine and had qualities anyone could relate to. i give it four stars because although I really enjoyed it, the ending was a bit short. I appluad Tanith Lee.

I loved it! The first line:yes.I stole this book;imediately made me curious.A lot of times I was worried for Cladi, but that's how it always is in books.Tanith Lee was on fire! I barely heard about the next book in the series right now and I can't wait to read it; the Wolf Wing! You'll love this novel!

    Claidi

Well, I read this book because it was recommended by people who had read Catherine, Called Birdy as well as Ella Enchanted. I give the book four stars because it was great, but not excellent. It was a little hard to follow in some places. I think the ending of the third book, Wolf Queen was a bit sappy, but maybe that's just me. I'd like to know what happens to Nemian & Venn. I'd also like it if Argul could become leader of the Hulta again.
