But in fact, this type of tight harmonizing over songs celebrating love, heartbreak, and self-sufficiency has been a country staple since the Clarks -- who range in age from 16 to 23 -- were in diapers, if not before. Credit co-producers Tim McGraw and Byron Gallimore with keeping the pop flourishes to a minimum and instead kindling the soundscape on Meanwhile Back at the Ranch with earthy Dobros, fiddles, guitars, and drums. And though the Clarks are here to entertain, their songs are tough-minded enough to bear repeated listens. The swinging "Going Away" proclaims the singer's intent to hit the road for some self-discovery before life leaves him behind. On the soaring ballad "It'll Always Be You," a rich affirmation of a man's enduring love for his significant other, the Clarks reveal a lot of heart, expressing feelings that many men leave unspoken. The feisty title song, fueled by spitfire guitars, celebrates quiet time away from the rat race. Taking vocal cues from Chris Hillman and the Desert Rose Band, the Clark Family Experience begs you look beyond their carefully wrought fa├žade and give their music a fair hearing -- an investment that'll pay off in spades.

    Never Gets Old

The Clark Family Experience is a great band...and they live only about 15 minutes away from me! I have their CD and have listened to it so many times through and it never gets old. I've met Aaron and Andrew, (and their younger twin brothers Alex and Abe that aren't in the band), and their all so friendly and nice. They are all GEORGOUS!!! UPDATE: They are now out of the old contract with CURB records and are currently being interviewed by Sony, RCA, Dreamworks etc. I've heard their CD they are working on now its just for fun, they may or may not use the songs on the CD they will release in the future after signing a new contract...ITS A GREAT CD!! This one has less of a country feel to most of its songs...they are more funky and unique, but great!! LOOK OUT 'CAUSE THEY'RE COMMING BACK!!

    Clark Rocks!

I just saw the Clark boys last night at the Dixon May Fair in Dixon,California and they're so totally wonderful! I've loved them since they first came out, and after seeing them live last night and getting to meet all of them, I am even more impressed. They are down-to-earth,sweet guys who can sing and play beautifully. Not to mention they're beautiful themselves! I can hardly wait to see them again in Ohio at Country Concert 2003! My advice to everyone is BUY THEIR CD!:)

    The Clark Family Experience

Not too many artists in today's music scene can play instruments as skilled as these Clark Brothers who make up the Clark Family Experience!! I challenge almost anyone, to keep up with these guys, when it comes to pickin' and grinnin'! I was fortunate to see them live in concert four times within a years time...and let me just say that this record does not do them justice, compared to their live concert Experience!!! For their debut album, they did the best they could under, I assume, certain label ristricted circumstances. Alan's vocals really come off polished and he sounds more professional than ever! As a true country/bluegrass vocalist, the man has got it goin' on! This is one well worthy album to add to your library collection of CD's :) Trust me, when these guys hit it big soon, you'll be scrambling to find their first CD!!!

    Good Looking Band

These guys are great. I've always liked them, and I got to see them in concert a couple weeks ago and what a wonderful job they do. They are so interactive with the crowd. I hope they can get back on their feet after the hardships they are going through right now. I wish everyone would go out and buy their c.d. just to help them out. They are all good looking and can't wait to see them again.

Thumbs up to the Artists Thumbs Down to the Album

Although I enjoy these boys--this album is not exactly what I had anticipated. The Clarks have such an extreme talent of playing and they don't even do that on this album. Congratulations Alan on a job well done??? It was so nice that Ashley could make a visit on the first track. Hopefully your second album will provide a showcase of your talent. The song selections are great...The ones not released as singles should have been. This is a fun and lively little album....hope to hear some of these tunes at a show---with the real artists playing

    The wait is over

The wait is over, all expectations are being realized. This self-titled debut album reflects the same integrity and fun that the Clark Family Experience likes to display on stage. The album features four new songs that the band doesn't do in concert, but I can't understand why not, as with the rest of the album the new songs are upbeat and beautifully done. I especially love "You Were Smilin" which proves that these guys can do ballads as well as traditional country and bluegrass. "Meanwhile Back at the Ranch" will always be a favorite as this was the song that introduced me to the band. "Standing Still" will always be my absolute favorite because the words are spunky and animated. "Going Away" and "When I Look at You" prove that the Clark Family Experience not only sing well and play their own instruments but can write their own songs. I'm not surprised at how much I am enjoying this CD, I have seen the band several times in concert and they just seem to get better all the time and this album is a must for all CFX fans and anyone else who appreciates and enjoys good music. After all is said and done the Clark Family Exerience make "jumping over trouble like there ain't nothing to it" look easy. They have beat the odds and overcome obstecles to prove they have the stamina to last a long time in a business that has knocked others down in the past.

    Oh my Goodness!

These boys are so talented! Having seen them live and having pre-heard this cd, I am a wealth of knowlege on these talented young men. Not only do they play their own insturments (!) but they are charismatic and lively while they do it. These kids will go far!

    Clark Family Rocks!

I first saw them in concert in Sept. 2001, and a couple more times in March 2002, and these guys rock! They are all extremely talented as they play their own music. There aren't too many musicians out there today that can play their own instruments. All of them are equally talent, but Ashley's fiddle-playing shines. All of their songs are magnificent, from Ashley's "Going Away" to the fiery "Meanwhile Back at the Ranch". The melodies of their songs varies, but each one of them has a catchy tune, and deals with everyday lives and feelings. All in all, terrific CD. It's about time it was released, though! :-) A little side note: I got the pleasure of meeting these talented brothers in March, and they are all truly wonderful and friendly.

    Great Stuff

WOW! What more can you say. It's a shame these guys have been over looked for so long. With the amount of talent this family has, they are sure to be here for a long time to come. And this is a "MUST SEE" live band!
