    more from this reviewer

    I Also Recommend:

    Better than the UK version

    The US version has their great take on "I fought the law" so this is the version to get. This is classic Punk Rock rage yet remains entertaining as well.

    This is Rock and Roll music

    Sheer, unfiltered passion, just like the early recordings of Jerry Lee Lewis (check out his 1964 live album "Live at the Star Club", it's complete insanity!). This is quite possibly Punk's finest hour, since Jones and Strummer could do something that Rotten and crew could not: Write songs. It's incredibly consistent, not a weak song in sight here, people. Get both the US and the UK versions, since they each have their own vibe and personality. Bottom line, just get it.

    UK Version is much better

    This Album is great but I reccommend the UK version. But if you are a clash freak like me then you need both!

    The best of all time

    5 stars doesnt even begin to tell you how much of an influence and accomplishment this was. The clash. The british punk firestarters. Four underground punks trying to have a good time and create political uprising and revolution. Without the clash the world wouldnt be the same. arguably the best british punk band, the clash is best where the sex pistols missed. While the sex pistols were nihilistic and wanted the world to end, the clash wanted political reform and revolution The clash were much more melodical than the sex pistols, due to the mix of two of the best punk vocalists of all time, mick jones and joe strummer. Add these twos 3 chord guitar riffs and paul simonons ripping bass, plus hardcore drumming from topper headon and terry chimes, and you have the making of the best british punk band, maybe even best punk band, and that exactly what the clash was and still is, and you can ask anyone who knows anything about punk and theyll tell you the same.

    Quite Possibly the Greatest!

    If your into underground music of ANY kind and you don't have this, consider yourself lost. This is the great grandaddy of punk rock albums. Everything after this can be compared to this. Buy the album that put the Sex Pistols to shame!

    Review of Album;

    One of the greatest and most important albums ever made of any venue. A must have for anyone that wishes to experience the original punk scene of the '70s. The Clash's first three albums were shear brillance (The Clash, Give 'em Enough Rope, London Calling) but the rest of their albums are not worth owning.
