This is an incredibly hot and sexy domestic discipline story with depth. Claire is a runner with Olympic dreams. She is looking for a new coach to help her qualify for the Olympic trials and she finds Nick Fox. From the start, the chemistry between them is obvious, but they both try to keep things professional. It all changes one afternoon when Coach Fox gives Claire a couple of firm taps on her bottom to calm her down and re-focus her attention. Things immediately heat up between the coach and athlete.
Claire has trust and body image issues stemming from psychological abuse first at the hands of her mother and later her former coach. Because of the history of abusive women in her life, she prefers to work with a male coach and Nick Fox is the perfect man for the job. He’s caring and sexy and doesn’t allow her to lapse into her former destructive habits whenever she has a moment of panic or becomes overwhelmed.
I loved the dynamics between Nick and Claire. From the beginning, he knew what she needed but was afraid to push her too far. His moments of self-doubt, when he feared he did just that, made him even more endearing. He demands absolute honesty from her and gently “corrects” her when she slips out of control. There is one amazing scene in the book where he never lays a finger on her but is still able to bring her pleasure like she’s never experienced before. Hot, hot, hot!!
This book is absolutely a must read for anyone who loves erotic romance and spankings. I was unsure if I would like this story because I don’t normally enjoy anything having to do with sports. While the marathon running and training was an important part of the story, it wasn’t the focus of the story. The other girls on the team were an integral part of Claire’s journey of self-discovery and their obvious love and respect for their coach and his for them, made it even easier to fall in love with him. I look forward to reading more by this author.

Have you ever read a book that for some reason, you just couldn’t put it down? Even though you already had an idea as to what was going to happen, there was just *something* that kept your attention and turning the pages?
That was the case of me and this story. While the story was a bit predictable from start to finish, I just couldn’t put it down because it was that well written, the characters were easy to connect too, and just overall the story was a good read.
I do think that Ms. Deane did a great job with Claire’s character; especially when it came to the thoughts she had about her own appearance. To me, those scenes were done very well and very realistic. They were done in situations that any woman would have the same thoughts about themselves. I did like Nick’s character as well. There was just something about him that drew me into the story and kept my attention.
Overall, I still have no clue what it was that I enjoyed so much about this book, but I really recommend it to anyone who enjoys this genre.

This is a first time author for me and when she approached me for a review I couldn't wait to dig into. Unfortunately it took a little bit longer to get to read it because of family life. I finally dug into it and finished it one day.
Claire Jacobs is a marathon runner trying to find her groove again by running marathons. Her previous coach's letdowns still haunt her and she struggles to find confidence. She gets told that she will be meeting with a new coach and is full of jitters about meeting him. With a shattered soul, determination, and snarky comebacks she is sure to make an impression on Coach Fox.
Nick Fox has a broken heart from the way his fiancee left him. She needed something that he couldn't give her. After time to find himself he dabbles into the world of Dominance and submission. Claire Bear as he calls her grabs his attention from their first meeting. He is impressed by her shear determination to succeed and get into the finals.
Add in Claire's first spanking from Nick and you are sure to have a winning story. I was very impressed with the strong emotional ties between Nick and Claire. Claire doesn't full understand her own needs and soon finds herself craving Nick even if she doesn't fully grasp what that entails. Nick is nurturing in his ways of trying to make Claire understand that she can forgive herself and let go of her past. I am definitely adding Katherine Deane on my to be watched list!

Authors are often advised to offer something “fresh” and new within their genre of choice and author Katherine Deane has done that with spanking romance/domestic discipline. In The Coach’s Discipline Claire is a marathoner with some self-defeating habits that have not permitted her to live up to her potential. Nick is the coach who believes in her and sees the best. Author Katherine Deane breaks the spanking romance mold with a heroine and hero who are both vulnerable and unsure of how domestic discipline will affect them.
The story and characters feel authentic and real, and offer an excellent example of what loving domestic discipline truly is.
I enjoyed the marathon (running) setting and learned a lot about the sport. I had no idea there was so much to running!
The Coach's Discipline is only Deane’s second book but it is one of the best spanking romances I've read this year. It’s a sure pleaser for spanking romance fans—but would also be an excellent introduction for those readers who are new to the genre. Five stars!

A Coach's Discipline goes up there as one of my favorites in the genre. There just aren't that many sports spanking books out there. I feel it's an untapped area in spanking fiction that has a hellava lot of steamy potential. Although Katherine Deane certainly set the bar high with her page turning novel.
Initially I wasn't sure how I would feel about it being a non-athlete. Well let me tell you...LOVED it!!! I didn't want to put this book down!
It's not only a sexy & steamy read, the main character Claire had me rolling with laughter with her sense of humor & verbal faux pas. BUT what I loved even more than the hot steamy spankings was the emotional depth to the story. This is a story that you can sink your teeth into. There is a real vulnerability with Claire who has not had to easiest time. This is a story of her triumph over her past & her own self doubt.
Nick, her incredibly sexy, dominant coach turned love interest helps to guide her with this in all the right ways.
He is HOT, HOT, HOT!
A Coach's Discipline is a fun, sexy, emotionally deep, & incredibly satisfying read. Pick it up! You won't regret it!

There is such a wonderful, sweet story here. I started reading and was hooked from Chapter 1, so much so that I kept on reading until I finished it! Seriously! Claire is such a warm person who has not had an easy time of it but when she meets Nick Fox everything changes for the better. Nick gets more than he bargained for when he decides to coach Claire and in the best way possible. Romance blooms and it jumps off the pages at you! Loved this book and if you haven't already bought it, you should just click and do so because you will regret it if you don't. Very nicely done! I received this book from Stormy Night Publications as an Advanced Reader Copy. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
