THE COLLECTED WORKS OF MARK TWAIN: THE NOVELS

The Nook publication of The Collected Works of Mark Twain: The Complete and Unabridged Novels (Cambridge World Classics Critical Edition) marks a major literary milestone.

Readers can now own a single volume which contains ALL the novels of Mark Twain (published in their full, original format) along with two critical essays on Mark Twain's life and work (over 2000 pages of outstanding literary content) in a single, easily navigable and interactive Kindle format.

The Collected Works of Mark Twain: The Complete and Unabridged Novels (Cambridge World Classics Critical Edition) includes extremely rare versions of The Gilded Age, Mark Twain's only novel co-written with another author, Charles Warner. It also includes the unfinished draft of The Mysterious Stranger, which was left tantalizingly incomplete upon Twain's death.

In between these two works, the Collected Works of Mark Twain: The Complete and Unabridged Novels (Cambridge World Classics Critical Edition) contains many of the truly seminal works by Mark Twain that defined the very shape of American literature, including: The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, The Prince and the Pauper, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court, The American Claimant, Tom Sawyer Abroad, Tragedy of Pudd'nhead Wilson, Tom Sawyer, Detective, Personal Recollections of Joan of Arc, The Double Barrelled Detective, A Dog's Tale, A Horse's Tale.

This is an excellent, extremely well organized collection with very intuitive navigation on my Nook. Highly recommended.

Mark Twain is the best American writer, and this is an outstanding collection of all of this novels. I highly recommend the very novel in this collection called the Gilded Age, it is not very well know today, but it criticized the greed of the robber barons ... the bankers of Twain's age, and exposes them for the immoral souls that they are. Highly relevant 100 years after Twain's death.

Mark Twain was a true American genius and this collection shows exactly why. Every single piece in this book is a sparkling gem and I would not mind being stranded on an isaldn with just this book. 5 stars.

The Nook version of this book would freeze on a page and was very difficult to navigate. This happened on both my Pendigital and my Nook e-readers. What I could read of the stories were good, but very difficult to use.not recommended.

I bought this collection for my daughter to read. She flipped to a story later in the book (around page 800) and the book subsequintly looked up the entire nook so hard that i had to reboot it to recover. Now i can't even open the book without it locking upmy system. I ended up just getting her the free gutenberg copies of the stories. This really stinks. I wish this would be fixed.

I'll be seeking a refund on this collection. It initially appeared to work. I could open it and look at the table of content. However the links only worked for the first 8 or so books. The rest if links failed to works. After moving from book to book within this collection, my Nook started to drop out of the book. Then my web stopped working, maybe unrelated, maybe not. So I ended up doing a full reset of my Nook - bringing it back to factory settings. It solved the web and other odd problems. However, now this collection doesn't come up at all, it just sits there and loads. If you touch anything during this time the NC freezes solid and you have to power down and back up. If you let it go it eventually gives up and goes back to home. I archived this and then downloaded again, in case it got corrupted. No joy. Very disappointed in the collection and especially in the egg shell fragile NC. BN needs to get their act together. If the file is corrupt, the Nook has to handle that and let the user know. Also BN should nit be selling corrupt and/or poorly constructed books. For free, sure I guess I can take my chances, but I shouldn't pay for toxic junk! Now as for Mark Twain, the man was an incredible genius. Read his autobiography and learn who he was and his insight into the human condition. Facinating.

Called tech support and was told that since the file is so big it takes time to navigate - well, yes, WAY too much time. 20 seconds or longer to turn a page once you get to the page/chapter/etc and getting there can take minutes! Unsatisfactory - how can B&N sell a B&N ebook to use on a B&N ereader that cannot be used? Others have been happy with this ebook - is the new Nook Simple Touch slower, have less memory, or ???

I am having trouble with this e book. The pages won't turn, the adobe reader seems to be glitched!

Hey, it's Mark Twain, so you know it's going to be good. Problem is, doesn't appear anybody proofread this particular "printing" because, especially with the novel "The Gilded Age," it's just absolutely CHOCK FULL of typographical errors which make it difficult to read. To get the meaning of a full third of the book, you have to figure WHERE the punctuation was actually intended to go and WHAT the punctuation mark was supposed to be ("and then; he, said. to her"), and what the word was actually supposed to be (Oh, they meant "jump," not "lump"). In short, five stars for the actual book, zero stars for this particular e-book version. I expected more from a Cambridge World Classics, but maybe they just scanned the thing into a file and didn't bother proofing the result?

Most of the books I have downloaded to my Nook have poor formatting and various other problems but this book takes it to a new level. Some books won't open, some lock up the Nook at various places and the rest of it is extremely poor formatting. Compared to my Kindle, B&N is just not ready for prime time.

This is horrible. I spoke with customer service and this book still is not deleted off my nook. Please make this book vanish. Never worked and my first book purchased. Very depressing.
