The Collection

by Chicago

The 2012 U.K. release The Collection is a 16-track compilation of Chicago's biggest hits roughly sequenced in reverse. This means it begins with a heavy blast of Peter Cetera-fronted soft rock hits -- "Hard to Say I'm Sorry," "Baby What a Big Surprise," "You're the Inspiration" -- before getting to "25 or 6 to 4"

Overview

The 2012 U.K. release The Collection is a 16-track compilation of Chicago's biggest hits roughly sequenced in reverse. This means it begins with a heavy blast of Peter Cetera-fronted soft rock hits -- "Hard to Say I'm Sorry," "Baby What a Big Surprise," "You're the Inspiration" -- before getting to "25 or 6 to 4" or "Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?" This may be chronologically jumbled but it doesn't really matter, as this still serves up all of the band's biggest songs and they all sound entertaining here. Other collections dig deeper -- like Rhino's 2002 double-disc Only the Beginning -- but if you just want the hits, this'll do nicely.
