Overview

Acclaimed for her moving depictions of interracial love, bestselling author Sandra Kitt delivers a passionate and provocative tale of modern romance

An artist trapped in an unfulfilling relationship, Leah Downey wants more out of life. But she plays it safe, never venturing too far from her comfort zone . . . not since the night she was mugged at knifepoint.
Beginning a relationship with a perfect stranger is completely out of character for Leah. But something about Jason Horn strikes a chord deep within her. They couldn’t be more different. Jason is white, a streetwise New York cop haunted by his own demons. He’s stunned by his instant attraction to this vibrant black woman who arouses both desire and his fiercest protective instincts.

Considered by many to be the foremost African American writer of romance, Kitt presents a sizzling romance that compares to The Bodyguard. Leah Downey is a talented black artist dealing with a loveless relationship. Jason Horn is a white cop trying to get over the traumas of his past. When they meet, sparks fly--but can they keep it together? Original.

    Absolutely Loved It!

This is the first book that I have read by Sandra Kitt. I absolutely loved it and could not put it down. The story drew me in completely. The characters, setting, and issues were so real. I didn't want the story to end. Great job. This is definitely one for the personal library. Please write a sequel!!

    Realistic!

I think this book was simply outstanding. Being in an interracial marriage myself, I must say that it rekindled some old flames. The characters were very well written, the implications of societal views of white men and black women being a couple were extremely vivid and not lacking reality. I vote for a sequel.

    I Love It!

Sandra Kitt, you are the queen author of Interracial novels. I absolutely love the Color of Love. It is one of the best books on Interracial love I have ever read. Ms. Kitt, I think there should be a sequel to this masterpiece. As young black female, I have found myself taking a interest in the guys of a different race from me and I am glad that there are books and people out there that can related to this different type of relationship. I would defintely read this book again and again. I have to ask a question though, in real life, Do things get steamy(sexual) pretty often like in the book?

    Excellent!!

This was the first book I had read by Ms. Kitt and she hooked me. To this day, when I don't have any other books to read, I'll pick it up and re-read it, as if it were the first time. I fell in love with 'Jay Eagle'. I didn't want this novel to end. I would love to read a sequel. Really a well-written book.

I truly believe this book is an erotic interracial love masterpiece!  The story is written is a way that captures
your mind and your heart.  The characters find love at a time in both their lives when they needed spiritual and
    emotional healing!

I didn't like it as much as some

It was enjoyable, but I found it hard to believe that everyone else in the world was against it until the very end when his sister seemed ok. That just hasn't been my experience. It seemed as if Leah didn't have any friends, and for an artist/graphics artist, that was kind of strange, especially since she went to church. I was much more fascinated with Jason's side of it because that seemed more realistic. I also the thought the confrontation with Slack was pretty obvious.

    REALISTIC & UPLIFTING !!

I adore this book. Sandra Kitt's characters deal with real issues that so many couples face but are able to over come. That makes a great love story for all races but it's nice to see someone reflect the reflect that pure and simple love can exist between interracial couples despite all the drama.

    Heartwarming

I first read this book back in 1997. It left me breathless! I have since read 'The Color of Love' many times over and it still gets me every time. I have also read other inter-racial romances by other authers and no one has even come close to the way Sandra Kitt writes!

'THE COLOR OF LOVE' is painted with success!

I purchased this book from my favorite book store, read it in four days, and purchased two more novels since. THE COLOR OF LOVE was a very good read and made me change my mind about romance novels. Although I wouldn't purchase a pound of romance novels and run home with a half gallon of ice cream, Ms. Kitt has enough personalization in her characters to keep me focused. Good Job!

    WONDERFUL

I have read this book numerous times and each time I am amazed at how Mrs. Kitt was able to address the numerous issues that face an interracial couple. I also respected the fact that Mrs. Kitt addresses the various issues of interracial dating while dealing with the personal issues that Leah and Jason have prior to meeting. PLEASE write a sequel to this book!!!

    Outstanding

I have to say that the Color of love is one of the best romance novels i have ever read. I am an african american woman that is in an interracial relationship, and i feel that the love Jason and Leah find within each other is exactly the postive influence we need for mixed couples today. I want to thank you Mrs. Kitt for writing such a brilliant book, and i hope to see a sequel to Jason and Leah again.
