Second in The Colored Door Series, Blue Door follows Shiny B in his faltering efforts of learning the rules and regulations of his current existence as re-animated human and vampire. As Detective Shine, he must take down an illicit operation located in the Blue Ember Club, where a new drug called X-ibit plagues the inner city. Users lose all inhibitions and the only way down from their high is to act upon their dangerous impulses.
During his investigation, Shine realizes there's more to the missing scientist responsible for engineering the narcotic. Whatever the FBI is hiding may well include Shine's girlfriend, Natasha, and her employer, Cohen & Cohen Insurance Underwriters.
Not only does Shiny B accidentally ingest X-ibit and lose control over the Change, but he inadvertently creates his nemesis, Wilma. Deadly things come in small packages, and it's up to a newfound friend to get Shiny B out of the mess he's in.
