Barbara Garro, MA, CPCU, retired from active risk and insurance management in 1989 for health reasons and then embarked on a successful second career as a writer, artist and speaker. In 1989, she founded Electric Envisions, Inc.:

Garro wrote The Comfort of the Shepherd: Parable Prayer and Meditation, as the second book in her Jesus’s Parables Series. Her painting, Facets of the Great Mystery, a depiction of The Holy Trinity, appears on its cover.

Several of her spiritual poems and excerpts are found throughout the book. Her work includes Spiritual Direction Coaching for private clients, mostly by
telephone. She has lectured and taught the Liturgy of the Word for children for over 40 years. In the 1990s, Garro wrote, produced and performed God’s Neighborhood, an ecumenical weekly cable television show for
children.
