From Hell Week to hell on earth, they go where no one else dares, kill with precision, and pull of daring attack, rescue, and reconnaissance missions. What kind of man becomes a secret warrior - a Navy SEAL, Delta Force ranger, Army Green Beret, or Air Force special op pilot?

For the first time, veteran Newsweek reporter Douglas Waller takes you inside this secret, elite world, from the SEALs' legendary Hell Week - where trainees get four hours of sleep in five days of body-and-mind-breaking drills - to an electronics-jammed Pave Low, the most sophisticated helicopter in the world. Then he follows the Commandos into the action - in never-before-revealed Desert Storm battle scenes, where U.S. Special Forces wages Scut-bustling night missions, behind-the-lines firelights, and some of the most unconventional and dangerous missions in the history of war.

For the first time, a veteran Newsweek reporter goes behind the scenes to chronicle the training and missions of the nation's elite fighting forces--the Navy SEALs, Delta Forces, Green Berets, and Air Force special operations pilots. Waller takes readers behind the official veil of secrecy--like no other previous military account. (Military History)

    Quality Book

This book was interesting and fun to read. At times this book this book got a little boring. This book really showed how a commandoes life really. It also showed the training of the commandoes pretty darn good. I would highly recommend this book to the people who are interested in the life, missions, and training of a Commandoe.

    Excellent!

I really enjoyed this book, from it's amazing start, narrirating the true incredible mission of a Army Special Forces team behind enemy lines in Iraq right before the Ground Battle in the Gulf War started, and their compromise, evasion, battle with Iraq troops, and escape. It continues with the training of Army Special Forces, Navy SEALS HELL Week,a look into the Army's elite Nightstalker aviation unit, and a look into the Army's highly secret commando team known as Delta Force. This marking the half-way point continues with a true exploit of a SEAL team and their diversionary tactic during the gulf war,and the following of Delta as they hunted for SCUDS in Iraq. This is a must read for any and all interested in special operations groups, a great read.

    Great Inside Knowledge

I really enjoyed this book. It was great first-hand knowledge by the author and was well written. The section on the SEAL training was the most interesting and really made me appreciate our special forces that much more.
