This was first published in 1993. Although the 6th book in this series, it does well as a stand-alone. Felix Darbell receives an anonymous letter breaking the silence of several people from 14 years ago. But who is bringing this secret to the light of day? And why now? It all began in Flowerdew ...... Detective Chief Inspector Gil Mayo and new team member Abigail Moon also receive an anonymous letter in the mail. And then the discovery of Angie Robinson's body is found and all evidence points to her as being the writer of the notes. She also had a link of Flowerdew ..... Who wanted her dead to make sure she spoke no more? As Mayo and Moon start investigating a possible crime from 14 years ago and questioning everyone who was at Flowerdew at that time, they find that there is more than one secret and more than one person knows the truth. Mayo and Moon are interesting characters. I'd like to have read the first books in this series to see how Mayo, especially, got to be where he is now. It's a rather slow moving investigation with a lot of taking statements from people who have different memories of what happened. Actually, Mayo and Moon don't even know who was possibly killed at Flowerdew and what Angie actually knew. My thanks to the author / Endeavour Press / Netgalley for an e-book. The opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.
