The Complete, Abridged Recipes of Shakespeare [NOOK Book]

Overview

This book contains only 28 of Shakespeare’s hundreds if not thousands of now world-renowned recipes. Owner and executive chef of The Globe, it has always been William’s design to give his patrons more than merely a banal industrial meal, (like, say, an Olive Garden Stuffed Chicken Marsala 9.95 special).

LibraryThing: This book was hilariously funny. A sprinkle of good recipes blended with Shakespearean wit. A really great read ( 3/5)

I love the funny anecdotes that follow each recipe. Haven't tried the recipes yet but they do sound delicious! And what an absolutely wonderful way to write a cook book! 5/5 stars

LT: I'm not sure what I was expecting from this book. It's not a cookbook, although it does contain actual recipes. Each chapter has characters from Shakespeare's plays attempting to create a dish in a contemporary restaurant. Giuseppe uses well-known stereotypes of character and plot to create humorous situations. Not all that witty if you are familiar with Shakespeare, and not all that great of a food tie-in if that's what you are looking for. But, a light-hearted and humorous little book. 3/5

Meet the Author

A rather oldish guy, hairy and round. Well, by compare anyway. A bit too much time cooking, a bit fanatical on looking at our behavior as resulting from the interaction of evolution within varying environments, genetics, epigenetics, physiology (neuronal network dialogue.) That means culture, in a broad, stratified sense. Oh, I spend much of the time in Italy, though I was born and raised in the US.
