    Great Purchase and Value

My daughter and I both love these stories. I just finished the complete set and she is already reading them for a second time. They are a great look back at life around the turn of the century.

    The Anne Books

Loved the books, and I still reread them periodically over the years, and discover new facets to the books. Rilla of Ingleside is definitely better than the 3rd movie in the series.

    Timeless classic

This is one of the best Series ever written. Each book is a new adventure, an new story. You see anne grow up, marry her true love and live her life in 8 unique books. The first is best though. It is amazing to watch her life progress. The Movies are fantastic as well

These book were devoured by me as a young girl, reread countless times. I wished the later books kept
the core characters together from the first books, but as in real life, people grow up, move on and pass away. So we
cannot keep Matthew and Marilla around for the whole series. I've even reread these books in adulthood and
watched the marvelous PBS movie version. Can't recommend any higher!

Anne is the little girl we all once were, or wanted to be, an ugly orphan so lovable she won the heart of...
pretty much everybody. In spite of (of because of) accidentally dying her hair green, her nose red, and
other misadventures. I love the whole series down to Rilla of Ingleside. Looked at through older eyes,
Montgomery does an amazing job creating characters and giving flavor to the interpersonal relationships -
people are still the same, their wants, needs, and schemes don't change, regardless of era or setting.

    Classic Hit!

My daughter came home her first weeks of high school with an enthusiasm and sparkle towards literature that I had not seen in years from her! The characters are wonderful. Wholesome, classic themes. Rich vocabulary and literary devices. Engaging and heartwarming. I am so pleased to see her reinspired and empassioned in finding a series that speaks to her heart. The value offered in this series (from a price-point standpoint) is also exceptional, and the handsome casing provides attractive storage. This is a must-have to feed your child's developing spirit without littering their experiences with over-sexed images and discussions. There is enough time for them to engage in that dialogue in the years to come---this allows young teens to be young teens.

    Loved it!

I really could read this series again and again. I love Anne and watching her grow up as I did too. I'll never forget the awesome trips I took with this book in hand. I recomenend everyone with an imagination to read this series. I loved everything about it, especially that I'm so much like Anne, minus the red hair. I read this book for the first time during the fifth grade and I can´t stop picking it up. I never finished the series thought because my local libary has until the 5th book. I would soo like to finish, but I really can´t spare the money right now to buy the series. For those who can, I really urge you to find that creative and imaginative side in all of you that Montgomery is sure to bring out. Have fun reading!!

    A great heroine of literature

Anne of Green Gables is one of the best characters of literature and I first read this at a very young age. I bought this set thru Barnes and Noble and re-read all that writing that so fascinated me as a child. As I read I share it with my 10 year-old daughter and she is greatly enthrawled by this as well. I would just like to say that everyone who hasn't read this is that much poorer for it since this is such a great story.

    Highly rated

This was a wonderful book and I could see why Mark Twain called Anne of Green Gables, ¿One of the best pieces of literature written.¿ It became the first in the series of five novels. I could not help feeling sad, reading the first couple of chapters and seeing how Anne was called ¿an ugly red head and unfortunate¿. Soon I was able to see some of myself in Anne and I wanted good things for her. Her seeking ¿kindred spirits¿ for life long alliances is how I think of my friends as well. Slowly throughout the book, I liked how Montgomery made the attitudes the characters had in the beginning change and loosen as the story was told. Marilla evolves from Anne's stern guardian into a gentle, complementing mother-like figure. This is a book I recommend to middle school readers and older who really like to read and who want to feel what it is like to be different.

Anne Of Green Gables is just the best

I absouletly love this series,it is one of my favorite book series of all time. I read these books since i was 7 years old, and i loved them right away when i started with Anne Of Green Gables. I loved all the imaginations of Anne, her thoughts in her mind, her philosphy on life, how she does mature and grows up in the series but still has that spark, imagination, and spunk throughout the series. I love all the characters that are in the whole series from Anne to Matthew,to Marilla,to Gilbert,Mrs. Lynde,Diana Barry,Mrs.Barry,Josie Pye,Moody Spurgeon,Jane Andrews,Ruby Gillis, all of Anne's and Gilbert's children. I laugh at all the comedic parts,i cry at all the sad and emotional parts, i feel happy at all the good parts, and just love the series as a whole and the place of where Anne's stories take place Prince Edward Island. I recommend this whole series to anyone looking for a fantastic classic, wonderful, mesmerizing read, about an orphan who touched mine and alot of other people's heart's,the books and stories still do Anne Of Green Gables. Anne with an e is a true heroine of classic liteature, liteature period, and one of the best book series ever written around.

    Another great set of stories

Almost all of the books I've read have had a male human hero like Robin Hood, Don Juan or King Arthur, but this has yet another female hero, and I like to see and read of this, as well as of animal heroes.

If only there were more books like these

my personal L. M. Montgomery library is a hodge-podge of various used and new books. The first one i read was, of course, Anne of Green Gables. At the time,I was in 5th grade, and had just finished reading the LOTR series. I purchased 'Green Gables' at my school book fair and an hour or so later i was sent home sick with the flu. As soon as i was well again, i began avidly searching for any other 'anne' books i could find. That kept me occupied for about another year, i loved those books soooo much i cried when i finished reading Rilla of Ingleside. Luckliy for me, there was also the Emily Trilogy, and the Pat books, and the Blue Castle to keep me occupied all through middle school. Whether its for you or someone you love, if you are looking for sweet, vivid, and engrossing stories these are the answer to your prayers.

Review of Anne of Green Gables

The main characters of this book are Anne, Diana Barry, Mrs. Barry, Mrs. Lynde, Matthew and Marilla. The plot of this book is Anne's successful life growing up at Green Gables with Matthew and Marilla. I found this book very interesting. When I started reading this book, I was just drawn to it and could not put it down. I would recommend this book to anyone at any level who can understand. For all who read this book, i assure you that you will love it.

kindred spirits are found in these pages

This story of Anne and her friends is the best book I have ever read. My teacher has read it too and we talk about it all the time. It's a story never to be forgotten.
