Overview

Here is a world of mysterious forces and strange incantations, magical names and numbers, talismans and charms. This world, with its rites and superstitions is as old as the BIBLE and as current as today's newspapers.

Presented for both entertainment and enlightenment, some of the beliefs and rituals documented here will often seem silly to the modern reader. But at other times, they are nakedly horrifying. Included are a diabolical cast of characters such as the Hungarian ...

Included are a diabolical cast of characters such as the Hungarian noblewoman who murdered dozens of serving girls in order to bathe in their blood, and a judge who sentenced 900 people to death for witchcraft after having obtained evidence for their crimes through excruciating torture.

The reader will learn the difference between amulets, talismans and charms, and how each has been used by different cultures throughout history. There is even a chapter on modern magic and witchcraft as practiced in the United States and around the world today.

Whether one wishes to broaden their knowledge of black magic and the spiritual world, or merely has a passing fancy in matters of the occult.THE COMPLETE BOOK OF MAGIC AND WITCHCRAFT will appeal to any reader's supernatural interests.

    What???

The writers of books like these most likely did there research in a closet. It is a shame that books like this get published. One only has to remember that never has anyone died in the name of Wicca. We as witches can only pray to the Goddess that the authors of these books find the light and love that she so freely gives to us. Bright Blessings

    Black Magic?

This book is the first i bought and wow was it full of lies. It borders on bringing back the burning times. It claims that 'God has his angels and the devil has his witches.' Witches do not believe in the devil. . . get a clue! read a better more factual source, Scott Cunningham, Gerald Gardner. It was entertaining, but if taken litaraly, could be seen as a mordern hammer against witches.
