Overview

While this superfluous compilation does cover some of the Eagles' most celebrated songs, it can't hold a candle to the band's best-selling disc, Their Greatest Hits (1971-1975). Furthermore, there's nothing truly "complete" about this album, as it leaves off some classic material in favor of such forgettable filler as "Please Come Home for Christmas" and "Hole in the World." Of the Eagles' many hits collections, live albums, and boxed sets, The Complete Greatest Hits isn't the most poorly constructed disc of the bunch, but it still displays an incomplete picture of a band whose catalog deserves better representation.

I ordered my new copy from one of the marketplace sellers and i'm already playing it. It's heartbreaking that I'll not get the opportunity to see these talented gentlemen do any of the songs featured on this 2CD album together. Though there are several Eagles members still with us I doubt it very much they will Tour together one more time. If they do i'll have no issue sitting in the nose bleed section at a local venue. I wanted this particular album because I wanted an Eagles Album that featured all seven people that I know to be Eagles either singing and or playing. Harmonies and instruments is what got me listening to these gentlemen in the first place. By the end of the 70's I was only 10y/o I might not have understood the lyrics but I loved the music when I heard them on the radio. I love a band that writes songs and plays the instruments. Listening to this album is like taking a trip in a musical time machine........

“The Very Best Of” by The Eagles is a well-assembled two cd set of daring classic rock songs. The following is an excellent sampler of their musical hits: “Hotel California” “Take It Easy” “Take It To The Limit” “One Of These Nights” “I Can’t Tell You Why” “Witchy Woman” “Get Over It” “The Best Of My Love” “Life In The Fast Lane” “The Long Run” “Love Will Keep Us Alive” There are many more classics in this collection, and I would have to say that “Get Over It” was one of my favorites. I am aware that the band may have a different meaning for “Get Over It.” It is just that I like “Get Over It” because it serves as a musical reminder for me to turn obstacles into learning opportunities when things may go differently from what I originally planned. “The Very Best Of” by The Eagles is great for those who like classic rock music and/or at least seven songs by The Eagles
