If you come to a point in your life where you realize that you need to be more assertive and you don't want to spend a lot of money talking to shrinks or counselors, this could be all you need. While I don't think that this book is for everybody, I personally found it to be of great value.

I liked the author's encouraging style, and the fact that you can pretty much skip around the book at random and launch into any chapter that you want

This book was recommended to me by my therapist. The content that I can read is good. Unfortunately, there are sections of text that simply are not available. Example: In chapter 9 ("Must Haves, Wants, and Nice Ifs"), the author references several lists (All About Your Workplace, Online Capabilities, Office Perks, etc.). Sadly, these "checklists" are missing from the text. In each case, instead of a list there is an icon of the cover of the book. The cover is nice enough (I suppose), but I bought the book for it's content, not for tiny pictures of the book cover. I drove down to a local Barnes and Noble to see if they could fix (or, at least, explain) this problem. The staff was most helpful, but unable to fix the problem. Their call to the "help desk" provided no useful tips. I purchased this book 3 weeks ago and as of now (June 20), the problem has not been resolved.
