I am not well versed enough in biological theory to assess the introductory sections of the book, but they were convincing to me. However, the two chapters on human and primate evolution had so many flaws in them as to concern me over the book as a whole. Had an anthropologist taken a look at the book, these would have been easily noted (e.g. chimpanzees are not just 'monkeys without tails' and a bonobo is not a monkey). Some more obvious errors should have been caught by a copy editor. It seems like this book was rushed off to press without scrutiny, and I would not recommend it for someone studying human evolution at all.
