One thought to be reserved only for the emperors of china, comes the knowledge treasure trove of Fung Shui. Being an idiots guide book, we all know the basic jest of how they work. Idiots guide book take a rather large chunk of information and condense it down to a more user friendly format. From a beginner stand point, this book covers a sheer volume of useful information in a easy to understand way. There are concepts in the book that people who are unfamiliar with them may get confused by such as how energy behaves in relation to fung shui and how the environment has an effect on you on an energy level. for the curious people this book would be a funky adventure. For the more experienced in these types of subjects, it would either be a refresher course or an expansion of foundational knowledge. For people interested in learning about classical or traditional Fung shui this book is a great starting place because it gives you information that would take you, in my opinion, a few decent books on the subject to get. The only downside to these book, again in my opinion, is they did not discuss in depth about the having to much or to little of the 5 phases. for those of you who dont know, the 5 phases refers to the 5 types of energy in fung shui, water, metal, earth, fire, wood and how each type of energy has its own distinct characteristics, and how they affect you and i. My problem with this is the book didn't explain what happens when a household has to much earth? metal, or wood? Im just picky like that i suppose. In any event, this book is a great pick up for the beginner as well as the seasons fung shui master for a refresher course. If i could i would give this book 4.5 stars.

Before you buy another feng shui book, read this one! Then read it again. It's full of useful information! I wish this had been my first feng shui book! I could have skipped a lot of the others.
