All books that are filled with tons of information, vocabulary

All books that are filled with tons of information, vocabulary words and little to no picture examples is always going to be a bit difficult to read. No one enjoys reading textbooks and that is sort of how I felt when reading “Foreign Currency Trading” by Gary Tilkin and Lita Epstein. My desired interest in learning how this trade world works is the only thing that kept me reading. With that said I found many things that I enjoyed on learning about the forex. The first thing that I enjoyed was the comparisons of the forex as to the stock market. After defining everything that the forex entails they introduce a brief chapter called “Forex vs. Stocks.” This intrigued me because I am learning about stocks as I read this book so it gives a good basis as to the similarities and differences between the two leading to a better understanding. I also appreciate their attempts to give more comparisons upon currencies in different countries. In chapter 6 they not only describe how the currency is doing in that country but the safety you would have in investing in that currency. These countries consisted of: Australia, Canada, Europe, Great Britain, Japan, New Zealand, Switzerland and United States.  Comparisons, for me, are very productive in aiding understanding in a new field. I search for topics I can compare to when I am learning new topics but I need the information to be very clear as well. When diving into this book I knew that I was going to be writing down some definitions to keep up. However, I did not expect to look up words myself that were important to understanding currency itself. The book did pass through vocabulary that I believe should’ve been defined. The sentence on page 40 for example stated “Forex dealers cannot guarantee that slippage won’t occur when a dealer’s office is closed, during times of extreme market volatility…” I did not understand what they meant by “market volatility.” This vocabulary word ended up to be an important word used to describe the currency market. I could be asking for too many gritty details for understanding this market but I believe this should’ve been defined. Overall, I did learn a great deal from this book. It is filled with a lot of information that I am yet unsure is completely necessary for currency trading since I have not indulged in such trading. I will need to read this book a second time to grasp as much knowledge as possible and I wish I could know more about the how the currency world changes throughout time.  At the end of it all I am curious to see how my next experience will be reading a “Completes Idiots Guide”
