    Must reading

World events come into much clearer focus when you know the players. This is my second copy. Too many changes, in the World, since the second edition. Great to have handy for those 'private moments'. Or just relaxing on the patio. Well written and concise.

In trying to be basic, it is so "dumbed down" that it is not very useful!

Tries to do too much -- and therefore fails to do much of anything. You would be better off with reference books of specific regions. This reads more like a basic natural science book that geography. It is also shy on visual aids/good maps.

    A reviewer

It is not the best on physical geography is that it didn't tell much on physical geography of the nations and also the maps weren't helpful,so its good to have a atlas with you when reading this book but it told about good amount of cultural geography of the nations.
