I have a personal aversion to negative titles, so it was with some serious trepidation on my part that I even opened this book. I have been studying Kabbalah for almost a decade and certainly didn't feel I was part of this book's target audience. Much to my shock and amazement, I was very impressed with how the authors combined their knowledge to produce a truly informative and easily accessible approach to authentic Kabbalah. Peppered throughout the text are sidebars such as "Kab-Trivia, On Track, def-i-ni-tion, Red Alert, and Word of Heart" which I found more helpful than distracting. And the Glossary at the end of the book is very clear and easy to understand. So, whether this title resonates with you or not, it's well worth your time. In my case, this was definitely a "Don't judge a book by its cover" situation.

I think this is one of the best, most easy to comprehend books on Kabbalah I've read to date. The Complete Idiot's Guide to Kabbalah touches on every aspect of Kabbalah in concise and clear explanations. The book manages to cover much of the essence of Kabbalah and by including the helpful inserts of Kab Trivia, Words of Inspiration, Red Alerts, Definitions, and especially On Track Tips, and The Least You Need to Know list of important concepts at the end of each chapter, (my favorite) I was tempted to continue reading chapter after chapter. It's a book that's difficult to put down. For me, The Idiot's Guide to Kabbalah is a book about deep truths presented in a refreshing, light hearted manner that brings Kabbalah into everyday language and ties everything covered together in answering the question: What is the meaning of my life? And so much more.

The people at Penguin deserve a round of applause for adding the subject of kabbalah to their "Complete Idiot's Guide" series of books. Considering the plethora of misconceptions of what kabbalah is and what it's for this book could have easily been another 'no-help' help book. But to write this book Penguin chose Michael Laitman. Mr. Laitman is the real deal - a living representative of a line of true kabbalists and author of 30 books on the subject. The "Complete Idiot's Guide to Kabbalah" not only explains simply and effectively the intricacies of kabbalah but it also sets the reader on the correct path for lifelong study should he or she choose to do so. Kudos Penguin

As a student of Kabbalah I have read many other books, but know you will find
that The Idiots Guide is written in a very simple, easy to read format.

This one book is filled with many facts and helpful hints that would usually take a person
reading several other books to gain all this information, for example: how to read the bible from
a different of view, the Kabbalah way.

For all of you that have only heard of Kabbalah on TV talk or late nights shows, now will
understand that this ancient wisdom is not just a craze or another fad to follow.

Since the mid 1990s, the number of people studying authentic Kabbalah has been growing in numbers. Since it was shrouded in mystery and hidden for centuries, even thinking about investigating it seems like a daunting task. Michael Laitman, the head of the organization that teaches Kabbalah (Bnei Baruch), has written a book that demystifies Kabbalah and brings it down to a level that makes it approachable and within grasp of those who wish to know more. Like all the Idiot's Guide series, it is written with humor and lightheartedness, in spite of the vast importance of the subject matter. Not only did I enjoy reading this book, it gave me a greater understanding of the essence of Kabbalah and a desire to learn more.

Kabbalah is such an interesting subject and so difficult! Dr. Michael Laitman wrote a book that anyone with the burning question of, 'What is the meaning of my life?' can read and understand! The information is wonderful and it is written well. It is interesting and exciting and left me with the desire to find out more about Kabbalah. I will read more of Dr. Laitman's books.

This book is written in the simplest manner possible to explain to the layman person about the meaning and significance of the wisdom of Kabbalah, to those who are searching for the true answers about the meaning of life, for the spiritual enlightenment and not for the 'magic pill' for the quick solution of the problems in life. It is not about amulets, and 'holy water', no red strings attached. This book is taking away all the clouds of mystery and concealment, which surrounded the wisdom of Kabbalah for millenniums. It'll open up the whole new world for you. Nonna

I have to admit I am sort of an idiot when it comes to all this stuff. This book is like a mini-encyclopedia of everything you ever wanted to know about authentic Kabbalah. It's Laitman's first book to go beyond the authentic material to explain how all this is connected to our daily life here on earth. It is an entertaining read and packed with extremely useful information. If you open your heart when reading it you will feel transported to another dimension. A place inside that connects us all to eternity. It will really blow you away.

In easy, basic language, Rav Laitman brings the teachings of Kabbalah to the level of our understanding. I highly recommend this book to everyone who has ever asked 'What is the meaning of my life'.

I have read so many books on Kabbalah through the years. Some of them are confusing, some only try to attribute physical qualities to the spiritual world, and others are not even close to accurate. This book is refreshingly different. It gives a thorough foundation to what Kabbalah is and is not. It explains all the myths and also the truth. It is an eye- opening reading experience to fully enjoy!
