I have been playing guitar for about 3 years now, and have learned many things along the different styles of playing guitar, but I came to a point at which I felt that something was still missing and that was guitar theory. I was going to have someone teach me (I still may), but I felt that I should try out a book first. After digging into this music theory book, just after the first two chapters I felt like I am learning so much. I feel that this book is an essential to those who want to further their knowledge in music. This book is one of my most valued books!

As an active, beginning music "idiotes," I find this book a sensibly systematic, down-to-earth instructional reference. I've learned, however, I need a way to use my violin with the accompanying ear-training CD.

I am transposing a piece of music for my wedding and needed a source to help me with different clefs. This book was wonderful!
