A perfect tribute to a forgotten star!

This book by Lynn Kear and John Rossman is a masterful and comprehensive guide to the career of a long forgotten and neglected actress, Kay Francis. Kay Francis has long been a favorite movie star of mine, but has been sadly neglected for too long. Few people today realize that, in the 30s and 40s, she was considered one of Hollywood's 'best actresses' (New York Herald-Tribune, London Times, Washington Post, etc) Many other publications prior to the two Kay Francis biographies have either neglected to include her or have dismissed her talents as insignificant. She was a far better actress than many have thought and quite a few of movies, such as 'One Way Passage', 'Trouble in Paradise', 'Confession' and 'In Name Only' stand up well along side with other acknowledged classics of the 30s. The Complete Kay Francis not only brings her long and extensive career to light, but properly recognizes her unique contributions as a movie star. This book sets a new standard for future, serious look at other movie actors' careers. This book has many beautiful photographs and is loaded with fascinating information. In particular, the sections covering Kay's stage, radio and television appearances are the most impressive and complete sections I have ever encountered in any other books of similar types. I would highly recommend this book to any fan of classic movies. For those who are Kay Francis fans, this book will be embraced as a long awaited tribute for those who are unfamiliar with her work, they will be pleasantly surprised and perhaps encouraged to to view some of her many movies. Kudos to Kear and Rossman for a superbly crafted book!
