    A reviewer

I gave this to my daughter and son-in-law (in their thirties) as a joke Christmas gift. They couldn't put it down and kept taking it away from each other. It is hilarious on the one hand and yet informative as well. For the person who has everything...this book is highly recommended.

Because you never know when you'll have to escape a charging rhino...

This is one of those books that you buy because you just want to know. As someone who enjoys collecting trivial knowledge I was fascinated by all the scenarios that were presented in the book. The book is very thorough including segments from several of the previous handbooks, and the CD-ROM that is included is a nice feature. You may never need to use any of the information contained therein, but it's fun to read and satisfies a certain sense of curiosity.

    Good but maybe not BEST???

Mr. Borgenicht - along with several different co-authors over the last few years - have written about a dozen or so "worst-case scenario" books with some having the word "complete" others "ultimate" and others focusing on a rather specific area (dating & sex, weddings, college are a few that come to mind). In my opinion, no one needs every one of these books as topics are frequently copied over from one version to the next. Exactly which tome you need really depends upon your lifestyle and your pocketbook. For the person looking for that "one volume," the Ultimate version - having been written slightly later than most if not all the other editions - seems the most comprehensive and usable to me. All, I thought, were well written, with an appropriate amount of humor meant to diffuse unnecessary panic which is most likely to occur on some level no matter how much training you've had. So, look at your choices, place your order, sit back and absorb & enjoy. I would hope that your life will be richer for the experience!!

    randomly useful

Not exactly a comprehensive handbook, but there are some amusing entries ("How to Revive Your New Spouse" ?!? ) and some randomly useful info -- evidently there is a correct way to fall down a flight of stairs...
