An excellent handbook for the novice to be up and running quite quickly. The concierge business is a new venture for me and will gear up with a focus on the senior demographic. I found Katharine's words insightful, helpful and hope to meet her and/or correspond. Her experience is priceless.

Meet the Author

Katharine Giovanni is an award-winning author and the world’s leading concierge trainer and consultant. She is considered to be one of the founders of the independent concierge industry and is the most sought-after concierge consultant and trainer in the world.

Katharine has both been interviewed by and appeared in dozens of newspapers and magazines, and on radio and television shows from around the country including ABC News Nightline, ABC News, CBS News, Good Morning America, MTV, Time Magazine, Money Magazine, Forbes, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, The Wall Street Journal, Condé Nast, Delta Airlines Sky Radio, and WOR Radio, to name a few.

The story begins decades ago, with a handful of pioneers—and Katharine was one of them. If you looked around the United States back then, you might have found two dozen concierge services, but certainly no more than that. Sensing a need, Katharine propelled her meeting planning business into something more cutting edge: a company that could offer concierge services and products to an eclectic range of industries that had yet to discover the world of the concierge. Katharine has gone from being a meeting planner and concierge for Fortune 500 executives to becoming one of the world’s leading international concierge consultants. As Triangle Concierge’s senior trainer and speaker, Katharine has taught workshops to groups and individuals in hotels, hospitals, small businesses, and large corporations.

She is also the founder and chairman of the Board of the International Concierge and Lifestyle Management Association (ICLMA) as well as a Certified Concierge Specialist (CCS). A dynamic public speaker and a member of the National Speakers Association, Katharine has appeared at seminars and conferences around the world. She is the author of three books including her award-winning book Going Above and Beyond.

Raised in New York City, Katharine earned a BA from Lake Forest College and currently lives in North Carolina with her husband Ron and two sons. Katharine can be reached through her websites at: and Also check out Katharine’s new video blog: The Crossroads. Now available on;
