Not only that, it will also prepare them for the day when they will have to cook for themselves as independent adults. With appetizing creations for breakfast, snack time, dinner and dessert, fast food won’t be their only option at mealtime.

Having 3 teenagers, I can appreciate this book. The recipes are clear and easy to follow for kitchen starters. I most enjoyed the kitchen definitions in this book that explain what the various terms and cooking methods mean. I also really liked the tips for shopping and cooking food that help newbies understand how to purchase good food and thoroughly cook the food. Overall, this is an excellent book for anyone just starting out in the kitchen.

This book was bought with my teenage nephew in mind. The language seemed a bit simplistic at times, but I think teenager will like that. It steers the reader to more healthy options with the mentioning of organic items and telling you to look at the ingredient list for added sugar and salt. Overall, the recipes look really yummy, easy to make, and good for you! I’m looking forward to trying several of these out.

Anytime you can get my 14 year old to want to cook, and not only cook for himself, but cook for me too I give the book a 2 thumbs up!
This book is awesome for teens to adults. I'm a mom who cooks everyday for her adult and teenage children, so now when I'm asked to make
a favorite dish I have been finding myself going to the index of Cookbook for Teens to see if there is a recipe. This definitely a great addition to our cookbook library.

Really informative and great recipes.  The book gives the reader confidence and knowledge prior to dissecting the challenging recipes in the book.  i was thoroughly impressed with the range of recipes and loved the separate dinner sections 'cooking for one' and 'cooking for a group'.  I wish I had this book 10 years ago, it would have saved me a lot of thrown away brownies and pasta attempts.

This book is a good introduction to cooking for those teens who have already shown an interest in learning to cook. There were a lot of great explanations on cooking terminology for someone who knows very little about the subject and a great array of classic recipes such as lasagna, tomato soup, spinach salad and oatmeal chocolate chip cookies that all cooks should have in their repertoire.

This cookbook is the perfect book to pack for your college-bound kid. The recipe titles, ingredients  and recipe difficulty are tailored to
new cooks. The recipes keep fancier, more expensive ingredients to a minimum so even following the party recipes won’t suck up the
grocery money. This book also introduces good kitchen habits and tips like picking out produce, a mini sanitation lesson and what
ingredients are worth stocking up on. I wish I had this reference during my college years and just maybe I wouldn't have had so many
stomach aches resulting from my cooking experiments.

The Cookbook for Teen¿s wide variety of fun yet healthy recipes

The Cookbook for Teen’s wide variety of fun yet healthy recipes will appeal to parents and teens alike, at least those teens who are motivated to put in the time to not only learn how to cook, but to actually do the cooking. Some of the book’s allure is lost, however, on the very first page, when it annoyingly tells teens in a seemingly patronizing tone how someday, they will appreciate everything their parents have done for them. What teen wants to open a book and read that? I wonder how many will continue to page 2.

¿The Cookbook for Teens¿ deserves a place on any teen¿s bookshel

“The Cookbook for Teens” deserves a place on any teen’s bookshelf who is preparing to make the transition from home to living on their own.  It suggests starting simple and building cooking skills over time and, to this end, it covers all the bases:  meal planning, cooking techniques, following recipes, required kitchen tools, creating shopping lists, basic ingredients to have on hand.  The second half of the book includes 74 recipes, all in clear, easy to follow directions.

This is a great cookbook for college-age kids who haven’t grown up cooking or younger kids who have. The recipes are simple and easy to follow, and they don’t ask the user to have a kitchen full of fancy utensils or an elaborate pantry. All the meals are filling and tasty—the Slow Cooker Chicken is really tasty—and offer hints for serving at the beginning of each recipe. This is a hit with my kids.

Our daughter Helen asked us to pick this up for her and we are sure glad that we did! I have gained a pound and a half since she discovered the Going Bananas banana bread recipe (great recipe) and the reference section in the beginning reviews everything from herbs and spices to how to tell when fruit is ripe when grocery shopping. My only regret is that I should have picked up a paperback copy because my Kindle is now constantly covered in my daughter's batter covered finger prints. Good recipes and a well organized review of the basics in the kitchen.
