I was given this cook book by my mother as a gift. I think her true intention was that I give it to my roommate with the hopes that I would teach him to cook. He, as of yet, has not touched the book and I have. I looked through it and found how easy some of the recipies are and how elegant. I've been cooking for many years and have had a restaurant of my own so I know how to cook. But this book would be an ideal learning book. It doesn't really teach as much as show how simple cooking truly can be and how 4 ingredients can go a long long way. I made the other evening the Focaccia Bread and it turned out splendidly. Of course I've never been a baker because of the patience and mixing it takes but this bread turned out amazingly! Moms if you're sending your sons off to school and they can't cook... get them this book. Wives, if you're leaving for a week or two and the husband may not survive, or he may but on fast food and expensive meals out, get him the book a little in advance. 2 Forks UP!!! Enjoy it's simplicity...
