Copyright Book: A Practical Guideby William S. Strong
As copyright issues grow more complicated, this guide to U.S. copyright law becomes ever more indispensable. The fifth edition has been updated to include recent judicial and legislative decisions concerning copyright and the debates surrounding publication on the Web and other new media. What continue to distinguish the book are the author's common sense and his ability to express complex issues and judicial decisions in language that the lay reader can understand and even enjoy.
Mr. Strong, a named partner at a general practice Boston law firm, Kotin,
Crabtree & Strong, writes in plain English and with verve. When the impulse seizes him, he unabashedly calls out judicial decisions that he disagrees with, and he does so cogently and without rancor. He's a pleasure to read, particularly by the non-lawyers to who his publishers say this book is written for, although I suspect that even knowledgeable lawyers would gain something from the book.
