Overview

Jake Matheson can't get Hannah Ashton out of his mind, and he can't wait to take over the reins at his family's ranch, either. Too bad Hannah is about to leave town and his father, Holt, has no intention of retiring. In fact, he's issued an ultimatum—convince Hannah to wed in thirty days, or forget about ever running the ranch. Jake would do just about anything to keep her in Chance Creek—anything but mess with their birth control.

Hannah has never been able to control herself around Jake, so when fate throws her together with him, she makes the most of it. Why not have a short-lived fling before she leaves town to go to veterinary school? But when their birth control fails it seems all too convenient a way to keep her in town when she's determined to leave.

Will the truth bring them together? Or tear them apart for good?

I won this novel through LibraryThing & didn't realize it was part of a series.  However, I gave it a chance, & I'm so glad I did!  It's a very cute story that I couldn't put down!  A quick read & very entertaining, I really enjoyed it.  It can be read as a stand alone, but since I enjoyed it so much, now I plan on reading the others in the series.  Heartwarming & cute!

Why is she holding back on her desires? Why can't he open his mouth without her wanting to shut it for him? The backgrounds of these two bring together family dramas.

Ok,these book covers are being updated into somewhat cheesy, borderline obscene images of men with their pants hanging down to their jewels.....come on Cora, your books are better than that! These images make them seem cheap!

I started with Book 1 about a week ago and just finished Book 6... Each one features a family member or friend of the Chance Creek, Montana community... The stories go together like a TV series but they are quick well told stories that I find perfect for this time of the year when I don't have a lot of time to read and don't want to have to concentrate on a lot of detail... Ms Seton is an excellent story teller and I find myself looking forward to each new book in the series...

I really liked the set up and stories for this series but I must admit to skipping a good portion of the books because I don't need a blow by blow description of sex. The author could have left a bit more to the reader's imagination.

Hannah Ashton recently broke up with her boyfriend and struggling with her attraction to Jake Matheson. Hannah dreams of becoming a vet and working along side Bella Mortimer. Hannah's passion for animals especially Grace the Bison currently staying on Double Bar K Ranch. Jake Matheson is looking for more than one night stand with Hannah. He's been thinking lately about marriage, family, and old college dreams. Holt Matheson demands that Jake get married before Christmas or get off the ranch forever. Holt also tells Hannah that he'll eat Grace if she doesn't sleep with Jake. Now both Jake and Hannah are caught in an impossible situation but neither of them are denying their attraction. Can Jake accept Hannah's dreams for herself? Will Hannah give in to Holt's demands? Will Jake see an opportunity? Your answers await you in The Cowboy Lassos a Bride. The Chance Creek Cowboys is fast becoming a favorite series. I love that each of the couples has real life problems and situations. Both Jake and Hannah are caught between a rock and hard place by Holt's demands. I'm definitely looking forward to the next book in the series.
