She's off-limits and he's off his game, but together, they could make perfect harmony…

What country legend Brent Kane needs is a good old fashioned hook-up. With pressure to write his next album mounting and the sales from his latest album teetering, Brent needs to find his muse –hot sex with no commitment—fast. So when Brent holes up at his best friend’s ranch in Somewhere, Texas to write his next single the last thing he expected was to find his muse in the form of his best friend’s little sister.

DJ Diaz, the no nonsense part owner of the Double D Ranch, is not at all affected by Brent’s good looks and play-boy charm. She’s fallen once before and learned firsthand the heartache of loving a rock star. But spending time with the man who let her down ten years ago shows her what's missing from her life—fun. But with DJ determined to keep her heart from getting involved with this “just for fun” romance, it may be Brent who ends up changing his tune.

DJ fell in love as a teenager but all Brent wanted was to get out of town and become a rock star. He made it, and is back to visit with his best friend, her brother. Can she keep strong and not let herself fall for him again. He's gorgeous, talented, has it all and is use to women throwing themselves at him. But no matter how hard he try's, she's not falling for it again. They're constant bantering at times is laugh out loud funny, and at other times fills the room with sexual tension. Both DJ and Brent are afraid of what they're feeling. The running and chasing tells a great story all the way to the end. You'll have to read it to see what happens when Brent once again leaves DJ to go back to his Rock Star life. If you enjoy romance with humor and sexual tension this book is for you. The author hooks you from beginning to end and I really hope to read about DJ and Brent again.

Rockstar Cowboy is a great easy read book. You want to keep reading it to find out if the main character Brent can make up his mind what he really wants. They story is about DJ who lost her parents 10 years ago and her heart was broken when Brent didn’t come back for their funeral. She never got over her broken teenage crush of him and now he’s come back to Texas to clear his mind and write some songs. It seems he’s hit a point of his rockstar life where the songs just aren’t coming to him. But the tension and feelings between him and DJ are enough to spark some real fire. KC Klein has a real gift to writing books that want you to keep reading. She moves them along at a nice pace and fully explains the characters. Each character definitely had their own personality and boy was Brent a character! This was a good love story with a lot of humor throw in. I was given an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

It’s been 10 years since DJ Diaz and her brother Derrek’s parents were killed. DJ was only 15, and since then the siblings have had to manage their ranch alone. DJ knows nothing but hard work, that’s basically all she does, she never has time for fun. Derrek’s best friend Brent Kane left shortly before the fateful accident, and didn’t come back for the funeral, which broke DJ’s heart; he was also her best friend. Brent had left because he couldn’t miss an opportunity to start his budding music career. He is now the biggest country music star, and a playboy as well. When Brent hits a writer’s block, he asks Derrek to take him for a weekend, which becomes longer, because he cannot get DJ out of his mind. Brent is a real charmer, and quite full of himself, and I absolutely loved that DJ is not impressed by his money or his status, even though she finds him extremely attractive, but he rubs her the wrong way. He is used to having everyone at his beck and call, while she works like mad, only to make ends meet. Brent desperately wants to have DJ in his bed, but she wants nothing of it, because she knows it won’t last, that he’ll leave again like he did so many years ago. I found astonishing that Ms. Klein is able to convey all of DJ’s rage, exhaustion, pain, without ever making her unpleasant; I really loved DJ. It’s easy to relate to her long and exhausting days, as well as why she resists Brent; he will not treat her like a groupie. I also rather liked Brent, even though he thinks he’s God’s gift to womankind, so much so that I was at the point of really disliking him, when things changed. Ms. Klein, true to form, has created exemplary characters in THE COWBOY ROCK STAR; so complex, they seem like people we know rather than fictional creations. And I honestly had no idea how everything would turn out until the very end. And lo and behold, trust Ms. Klein to make things works perfectly logically, without compromising her characters’ integrity; I was extremely pleased at how the relationship issues were settled between Brent and DJ. KC Klein is an author I can always depend for riveting stories, which is especially rare with romances, and beautiful, eloquent writing, with dialogues that sound entirely realistic. KC Klein knows how to write it perfectly! I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I love rock star romances - but I don't think there was enough rock star in this one for me. Still a very enjoyable romance, but it was far more cowboy than I had originally expected. This is more of a prodigal son returning home type of story. We don't get any of the glamour and glitz that I've come to love from rock star stories. What we do get is a really sweet story of high school love coming full circle to hit both parties upside the head, telling them to get on with it already and fall in love again. Brent is trying to find his lost muse and get back to his roots. Staying with his best friend from high school and his little sister are just what he thinks he needs - until he realizes just how much DJ still means to him. DJ thinks Brent is just a spoiled super star that doesn't know the value of hard word. I loved watching her lay into him when he did something wrong. She's a very strong female character that really knows how to make her cowboys jump. She's perfect from Brent, but just needs to put some past demons to rest before she can realize it. What I liked best about this was that there wasn't really a "bad guy" in the story anywhere, and that neither character had some horrible character flaw to get over. It was just a matter of Brent and DJ realizing they were at the right place at the right time to finally make it work. (I still wanted some more rock star though.)

Brent needed some down time to work on his next album and some no strings hot sex for inspiration. The only problem is the one woman he is attracted to is his best friend’s little sister. An all-around great read. I enjoyed the dynamic between Brent and DJ and their chemistry was so sexy. They both had lots of baggage to work through and find their way. Looking forward to the next in the series.
