Bella Chatham will lose everything - her veterinary practice, her animal shelter, and even her home - if she can't find another source of income, fast. So when her best friend signs her up for the hot new reality television show, Can You Beat a Billionaire, Bella accepts the challenge and hopes against hope she can win the ten million dollar prize. If she doesn't, it's bye-bye pet clinic and shelter, bye-bye Chance Creek, Montana, and hello to marriage to the billionaire for a year!
Evan Mortimer, billionaire, can't believe he's reduced to competing in a television contest to win a wife. Unfortunately, it's the only foolproof way to secure his position as head of Mortimer Innovations. At least he'll be able to dump his "spouse" at the end of the year; he's much too busy to be tied down to a country bumpkin cowgirl.
Bella doesn't expect her adversary to be handsome - or funny, or compassionate - but Evan's all three, and he's proving a tough competitor, too. When they end up sharing a tent - and a sleeping-bag - her body betrays her with a longing so deep it cuts her to the core. Still, this cowgirl must stay strong. If Evan uncovers her secret fears, he'll use them to win the contest - and then he'll own her for a year. She'll be out of luck, out of cash, and stuck being Mrs. Mortimer until he kicks her to the curb. Too bad she can't decide which is worse - winning the show and losing Evan forever, or losing the show and only being his temporary wife.
Evan can't believe he's falling for the one woman who doesn't want him. This cowgirl's not impressed by his money, his name, or his inability to sleep in a tent with her for an entire night, but every look and touch she gives him sends his desire through the roof. With a director determined to use his claustrophobia to make him look like a fool, and an adversary so sexy he can hardly see straight, he'll need all his savvy to come out on top. Too bad he's going to lose no matter how this show turns out. If he beats Bella, he'll destroy the first woman he's ever loved. If he doesn't beat her, it's bye-bye Mortimer Innovations.
Will either of them remember in time that it's not who wins or who loses - it's how they play the game that really counts?

“The Cowgirl Ropes a Billionaire” is a sweet, girl-meets-billionaire-instant-love-story with a twist. It’s well written and interesting. I’m not a fan of the cowboy/cowgirl genre, but in this case, the heroine wasn’t a cowgirl, the hero wasn’t a cowboy, and the villain was a woman and a TV producer! Putting them into a reality show worked well to showcase their talents as well as their faults. After reading “The Cowgirl Ropes a Billionaire” I would probably read another book by Cora Seton.
Veterinarian Bella Chatham is a pushover for any stray, injured animal she meets. Since everyone in Chance Creek knows she can’t bear to euthanize a healthy animal, people bring her strays. Every penny she earns goes into feeding her menagerie. Unfortunately, she’s about to lose her practice because she can’t pay the bills.
Billionaire Evan Mortimer needs to get married in order to keep Mortimer Innovations. He’s kept the company focused on technologies that would reduce people’s need for oil, but if his very-married brother, Nate, gets his greedy hands on the company, they’d be fracking for oil in North Dakota.
A new reality show, Can You Beat a Billionaire, offers a ten million dollar prize to any female contestant who can beat a billionaire in a series of physical challenges. If the billionaire wins, he gets a bride for a year. Bella needs the money desperately, so when her friends sign her up as a contestant, she decides to compete. Evan is sure he can win, because he’s sure he can win almost any physical challenge, and, better still, he can dump his bride after a year. Perfect!
Bella didn’t expect her opponent to be quite so good looking, or so good at everything he tries. Evan didn’t expect find someone who wasn’t interested in his money or his position, or to be so attracted to her. TV producer Madeline is determined to make it tough for both of them, even using their secret fears against them. Both are determined to see it through to the end, even though by winning they might end up losing the thing they want most.

Bella is at risk of losing her vet clinic and no kill shelter.
Evan is at risk of losing control of his familys company to his brother.
They both get cast on a reality show, can you beat the billionare. Theyre put through physical and mental challenges. Whoever wins after 5 days, gets their prize. Bella needs the 5 million dollars if she wins. Evan needs a bride for 1 year to keep the company under his control. They start falling for each other. Evan is seriously torn between throwing the competition and trying his hardest to win her. The director keeps popping up to deliver "surprises". Super small tents they have to share, challenges that involve their largest fears, and demanding drama to keep their ratings up. Who will win?

Evan Mortimer appears to have everything he could ever want well maybe not everything. Evan is wealthy billionaire that needs to find a wife to keep control of his company. Evan gets involved with "Can You Beat A Billionaire?" to reach his goal. Bella Chatham can't bear to see household pets being put down which is why Chance Creek Animal Shelter is overrun with animals and sometimes not able to make ends meet. Bella's assistant Hannah enters Bella into "Can You Beat A Billionaire?". Bella goes to compete with her whole heart. Will Evan get what he wants? Will Bella get what she wants? Your answers await you in The Cowgirl Ropes a Billionaire.
I'm really enjoying this series. The writing is wonderful. The characters are just down right awesome too. I'm really looking forward to my next reading adventure in this series.

Bella is a veterinarian whose business is doing OK but because she can never turn away a stray animal, she is about to loose everything if she doesn't get a lot of money, fast. Evan is a billionaire but in order to keep his position in his family's company, Evan has to marry quickly. They have both decided that the way to solve their problems is to become contestants on a reality show called "Can you Beat a Billionaire". If Bella wins she would win $5 million, but if Evan wins, Bella will have to marry Evan and live with him for a year.
The contest takes place in the wilderness in Canada and there are challenges that each contestant must participate in to get points. The person with the highest points at the end of the 5 days, wins. Both are determined to win.
They both have issues that create problems for them during the week such as Bella being haunted by an event that happened in her childhood that caused her family to be distant with each other as well as made them have financial hardships. Evan has claustrophobia so cannot sleep in the tiny tent they have been given. I was surprised at how quickly Bella and Evan developed feelings for each other and how they dealt with it while every minute was being filmed for the show.
Evan was very kind to Bella and tried to help her often but Bella didn't want any favors from him. She wanted to win fair and square. The show's producer was mostly interested in filming 'good' television and didn't want them to be friendly with each other but rather combatants. She played on their weaknesses in order to get some good taping.
I don't watch reality shows because I don't want anyone to lose so I wasn't sure about reading this book. It was a nice light story and I did like it.
